Christmas Lights

Yesterday it was the annual switching on of the Christmas lights in our town. Luckily for us the rain decided to disappear by the afternoon so we took a stroll into town to join in with the festivities.

My children happened to notice this year that in actual fact the Christmas lights are left up all year round they just don't get switched on until November.

It is a lovely time of year actually, you never see the town so busy, a really fabulous atmosphere.

There were school children singing Christmas songs on stage.

Rides to go on, unfortunately I was a little too big to go on them myself!!!

And to our surprise Santa had even loaned out a couple of his reindeer for the occasion, complete with some (fake) snow in the air, it really was magical, the kids were so impressed.

The children of course persuaded mummy to empty her purse too :) wriggly things all round.

Oh and not forgetting the actual reason we were out, the Christmas lights, I didn't manage to get a proper picture of the tree because the crowd was so big and me being a tiny 5ft 1 couldn't see very well but here is a glimpse of the towns lights on our walk back home.

These Christmas lights zig zag along the whole of the town, a lovely way to brighten up the place and just gets me more excited about Christmas itself!!!

Have the Christmas lights been switched on where you live yet??

  1. I love this time of the year and the community events are a great way to get everyone together and have fun. It looks like the town put on a lot of activities to keep the children entertained. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.
