So whilst I was away on my jolly holidays, the second task for all us lovely Maxi-Cosi reporters was set.
This one was a tad trickier than the first task. We were asked to "rediscover" our own cities that we live in and find three places that we hadn't visited before. Coming back from holiday and not having any sleep, I was left looking at the task and drawing a big blank because I have lived in Dover for a long long time, so you would think that there would be nothing left to discover!!
This task actually came at a good time because Daddy Hazelden was off work, so he was able to come on our little adventure with us. We decided to jump in the car and have a drive around to see what we could uncover. This is where the compact fold of the Loola really worked well because with 6 of us in a car, it leaves very little boot space but the Loola slotted in nicely, no trying to fit it in like a puzzle piece.
We came across a lovely farm shop just on the outskirts of town. Somewhere that I had heard of but never actually visited.
We managed to pick up some lovely fresh cakes for the girls, I must admit I made them wait until we got home to eat them because I didn't want my shiny new pushchair covered in cake crumbs and cream. We also bought a little tipple of cider for mummy and daddy whilst we were there because it is nice to treat everyone in the family isn't it.
The whole place was easy to push the Loola around because it was all on flat ground and even though you had to step down to get into the shops, we didn't have a huge problem moving the pushchair up and down the steps, although I did find the Loola a little heavy when pushing down on the handle bar to bump it back up the steps.
Next stop on our tour of Dover was Dover castle.
I know what your thinking, you live in Dover and you have never visited the castle, well yes I have visited the castle but normally we just walk around the inside of the castle.
This time we decided to walk around the outside because this meant less steps to try and get up and down with the Loola.
It is quite a step hill walking up to the castle itself but the adjustable handle made it easier to push the pushchair up it.
It was surprising how well the wheels of the Loola coped on the cobbles around the grounds, a bit of a wobbly ride for Layla but she never complained and we still managed to steer in the right direction!!
Our last stop was the Western Heights, this is somewhere the kids have been with Daddy Hazelden before but mummy normally stays at home and lets them explore.
As you can see from the photo to the left, you get amazing views of the Dover port below.
There are quite a few paths that are fairly rocky so Daddy Hazelden actually carried the Loola over some parts, making use of his muscles but he did say that even with Layla seated in it, it wasn't too heavy, although he wouldn't want to be doing it on a daily basis!!
The hood came in handy with the sun beating down on us and also protected from the winds that were getting stronger the higher up we were going.
This task turned out to be a great one as it meant we got to spent time as a family and managed to discover a few things together and these are all places that we would definitely revisit at a later date, especially with another 5 weeks of Summer holidays to go!! Think we may explore further to see what other treasures we can find!!

Sunshine has to mean BBQ time
The Great British weather has taken a turn for the good, making a nice change for all of us, especially if you aren't planning on going abroad this year.
When the sun is shining brightly, it always gets me in the mood for a good old barbeque, so when moneysupermarket.com set the "charcoal challenge", I was eager to get involved. We were given £50 to spend on creating the best barbeque on a budget and anyone who knows me will know that I am always on the look out for a bargain.
First off we actually needed to buy a disposable barbeque because we don't actually own one of our own due the garden not being a massive size. I managed to get a double sized one from Morrisons for a tiny £5.00, leaving me £45.00 for all the food and drink because you know what goes well with a barbeque, you guessed it, alcohol!!!
I managed to buy a lot of food with my money :
* 16 burgers
* 20 sausages
* 8 jacket potatoes
* 5 turkey steaks
* 5 lamb kebabs
* rolls for burgers and sausages
* ketchup
* salad
* coleslaw and potato salad
all of this cost less than £20.00 and in the end managed to feed 9 people and still with food left over!!
Then on to the drink, not quite as important as the food but it definitely plays a vital role I think :)
In the fridge we had :
* wine
* beer
* cider
* alcopops
* fizzy drink
* juice
Adults and children well catered for in my opinion, oh and ice was already in the freezer so no extra cost there!!
This still left me with arond £4 out of my budget to spend, what else would you need for a BBQ in hot weather??
What better to keep cool and keep the kids entertained whilst you are cooking than toys for the garden.
I love poundland for a tiny £3 I managed to pick up
* 3 fun shaped bubble blowers
* 3 water guns
* a small paddling pool
I think this prooves that when given a budget to stick to, it can stretch very far, I will definitely be setting myself more budgets in the future.
Now after all the buying, it was time to finally sit down and enjoy what we had bought.
Bring on the fun in the sun.

So of course Daddy Hazelden was in charge of cooking the food
Gracie decided whilst waiting for her food that she would chill out in the paddling pool.
And was just as quick to sit at the table as soon as the first burger was ready.
Even Layla enjoyed herself with her partner in crime, Freya keeping her company.
I really loved this challenge because it made a day spent with friends and family possible and really opened my eyes as to just how much you can get with your money if you really try. Here's to many more BBQ's this Summer!!
How many BBQ's have you all had this year so far, did you manage to do it on a budget??

Bibisili Review and Giveaway
My little Layla turned a whole year old yesterday, scary times!!! As she grows up, she is becoming more and more independent and one of things she insists on doing, is feeding herself.
The lovely people at Bibisili kindly sent me one of their bibs to review, their slogan is, "more fun, less mess", I really like the idea of this.
Bibisili are silicone bibs designed for both babies and toddlers to help catch any crumbs and dropped food. These funky bibs come in a range of designs, I picked Hettie Hippo, mainly because it was pink, what girl doesn't like a splash of pink??
I love how brightly coloured the bibs are, suitable for babies from 6 months onwards, they ideal for when you start weaning your little ones. The animal prints make them really eye catching and ultimately fun for your child.
However as well as stylish, they remain very practical too. Made from 100% silicone, they are free from lead, BPA and Phthalates, this means they are non toxic so completely harmless to your baby's skin.
The material that the bib is made from is very soft and flexible, not stiff like a lot of other bibs I have tried in the past. It has an adjustable neck, meaning it grows with your little one. The adjustment is different to ther bibs too, normally you do bibs up by either poppering, velcroing or tying but the bibisili is cleverly adjusted with a hook and loop system, there is hook one side and three loops the other to pop the hook in. This I found a little difficult to to the flexibility of the material but once in, it provided a great fit around Layla's neck, as seen in the picture below.
The built in crumb catcher means less cleaning for mummy when meal time finishes, ok not all crumbs are caught but nothings perfect and it definitely catches the majority!!!
The best feature in my opinion is the way it can easily be folded right down, great for taking out and about as it takes up next to no room in the changing bag and because it can be wiped clean, it can be used again and again, no need to wait for it to be washed, making it ideal to take away on holidays too!! It is also safe to use in the dishwasher, very modern ;)
Priced at £6.99 per bib, I don't think it is unreasonable as you only really need one, possibily two for your child due being wipe clean. I love them, the bright designs are suitable for any child and of course older toddlers could always pick which design they want themselves, they've even got one for Christmas and you know how quickly that comes around!!!
Now Bibisili have very kindly allowed me to give away one of their bibs to one of my lucky readers. The winner will even get to pick which design of bib they would like!! All you have to do to have a chance of winning is fill in the rafflecopter form below. The competition is open to UK residents only and will end on the 18th of August at 11.59pm.

Let me tell you a story...
Well I say me, I actually mean my daughter. I had one of those proud mummy moments last week when my eldest daughter's teacher came up to me excitedly before school started. She said that Elise had started to write a story and she was really impressed so wanted me to read it too.
Now I know Elise is very creative, she has a wonderful imagination and she is always telling people that she wants to be an author in real life. Her teacher actually sent her home with more paper because she wanted her to finish the story because I'm sure the rest of you will be the same, you want to know just what happens in the end!!
I, as her mum, am slightly biased but for someone who is 7 years old, I think she has done a really amazing job, so I just wanted to share with you all what she has created.
The Tale of a Castle War
One day, well you may have guessed, a long, long, long time ago in a medieval castle called Castle Ivy, a baby princess was born. Her name was Princess Destiny.
She lived in Castle Ivy with her mum, Queen Daniella and her father, King Ben. What the king and queen didn't know was that Princess Destiny had fallen in love with their knight, Sir Robinson. They had a secret love that was as sweet as cake.
One day on her 15th birthday, their worst enemy returned, Queen Vivian. Her knights were coming across the sea from Palace Evil.
Sir Robinson tried to get Princess Destiny away on his noble stead, Billy the dragon. When they thought they were far enough away, Queen Vivian came on her dragon Frankenstein and snatched Princess Destiny. Sir Robinson was heartbroken.
Meanwhile in Castle Ivy, there was a humungous battle between Castle Ivy and Palace Evil. A lot of knights got killed without their best knight, Sir Robinson and his noble stead Billy to help.
In Palace Evil, Queen Vivian had captured Queen Daniella, King Ben and Princess Destiny. Suddenly Princess Destiny had an idea. She took her toy vampire teeth out of her pocket that she remembered she had. Then she got her red pen out of her pocket that she also remembered that she had. She got her red pen and put some red on the toy vampire teeth. Princess Destiny put the toy vampire teeth in her mouth and you can guess what happened next.
Princess Destiny looked like a vampire who had just eaten. "I'm going to eat you if you don't set me free" said Princess Destiny. "Goodness me, I didn't know you were a vampire, please don't eat me princess" said Queen Vivian. "You'll be a tasty snack" said Princess Destiny. "Alright! ok ok, I'll set you free if I can rule Castle Ivy till my death" said Queen Vivian. "And if that happens I'll have you for my snack" said Princess Destiny, giving Queen Vivian a look. "I'm out of here, bye" shouted Queen Vivian.
"Ha, that was clever" laughed a voice. It was Sir Robinson. He bought Billy the dragon too. As you may have guessed, Sir Robinson had then captured Queen Vivian and put her in her own dungeon. He set Queen Daniella, King Ben and Princess Destiny free.
Two months later, Sir Robinson and Princess Destiny got married and had twins. A boy called Antony and a girl called Olivia and they were happy for the rest of their days.
THE END
Thanks for reading. Always nice to see a happy ending!!!

Love2Read Book Review
Having so many people to buy gifts for throughout the year, I always struggle with what to buy!! I do love personalised presents, it is something about unique for the person receiving them.
My mother in laws birthday is fast approaching and again I was finding it hard to think what to get for her and as if by magic, love2read approached me and asked if I would like to review one of their personalised photo books, this was perfect because I haven't given an updated picture of my children to my mother in law for quite a while and it was something she could sit and read with the kids.
Love2Read was an idea created by the lovely Caroline when she was helping one of her children learn to read. Caroline is actually a qualified teacher and she studied how children learn to read at university. With this is mind, she had made a book using pictures of her family and she found it was a real hit, even with her two year old!!
When you order your book, you literally create everything, you choose the title, the pictures and the words.
There are plenty of pre written titles to choose from, ranging from books for dads, mums, birthdays and so much more. If like me, you can't find the title that quite fits what you want the book to say, then you can choose your own title. The picture above shows what I chose the book to be called.
The book itself is made up of 12 pages, 10 of these pages you can place pictures of your choice on. I love that on the inside cover you have written who the book belongs to and you can even write a little message too, the picture below shows you what it looks like.
The book is a lovely size measuring roughly 7 inches square, a perfect size for little hands helping to hold on to it. The small size also means you can also take it out with you too as it would fit easily in most bags.
Each page you create, you choose what picture you would like to use, what words you want to use and even what colour border goes around each photo. The process is extremely simple and the best thing is that you don't have to rush. There is an option to save the book that you are creating so that you can come back to it at a later date, great if there is photo you really want to get to place in the book.
When creating the book, you are asked to pick two key words which you would like printed, this encourages your child to read and as my children do love nannie, I thought these keywords were approriate to sit and learn with nannie.
The final page of the book is my favourite, it is a collage of all the pictures that you have put in the book. I think it is really lovely seeing them altogether!!
You can purchase one of these personalised books from love2read for the amazing price of £14.99. I can't recommend them enough. The process of making them is very simple and the printing and posting of the book is extremely fast. What I really love is how they stay in contact with you throughout the process, you get emails letting you know that your book is going into printing and when it is going out for delivery. And if like me, you choose to create your own title etc, they contact you to check on just how you want things worded and send you proofs of how your book will look. This is such a nice touch and makes the process more enjoyable.

Brothermax Ray Bath and Room Thermometer Review
I have previously reviewed the Brothermax bunny light, so I know just how good their products can be, so when I was offered the chance to review their digital bath and room thermometer, I accepted immediately.
The Brothermax Ray Bath and Room digital thermometer is another practical yet fun product because not only is it an essential gadget, it doubles up as a bath toy and it's quirky shapes means that it is way better than any rubber duck.
I received the lovely creature in pistachio but you can also purchase it in lavender, aqua and tangerine. All the colours are very appealing to the eye which is great because colour is certainly what gets noticed by the kids.
The screen which shows the temperature is LCD and it is quite large and very easy to read.
Extremely simple to use in either bath or room. The digital display, tells you the temperature and above this it tells you the safe temperatures for both room and bath. A comfortable temperature for a room is around 19 degrees and for a bath it is 37 degrees.
If the temperature goes above 39 degrees in the bath, the clever gadget tells you that the bath is too hot for your little one by blinking with the word HOT!! I tested this out once the kids had evacuated the bath.
As you can see from the picture above Mr Ray floats nicely in the water. Just don't make the mistake I made, first time I tried to used it, the children were already in the bath because me being me had forgotten that it had come in the post that day!! This of course meant that they were picking it up to play with before I had had a chance to read the temperature, mummy fail right there!!
Priced at £15, it is a great addition to that pile of essential baby/child products. You get your moneys worth because it is a triple threat, thermometer for not one but two places and a bath toy. Doing tricks like floating and standing upright, it really is a clever little thing. Also being BPA, Phthlate and PVC free, you don't need to worry about your little ones popping in their mouths, great for me because Layla is at the stage where anything in sight is great to have a chew on!!

Is there really an average family size??
Now that the Summer holidays have arrived, I am trying to come up with things that the kids can do because I don't want them to be stuck at home all the time, not that my kids would complain, they are quite happy playing in the garden, reading books, making craft etc. You only have to look at the photo below to see that they know how to keep themselves entertained.
I think I just want to give them more, trouble is most activities don't come for free and the ones that do can get fairly boring if you are doing them day in day out.
Tickets for theme parks etc, I find to be extremely expensive and companies just don't seem to cater for larger families, it really puts me off going if I'm honest.
This got me thinking. Why is it that when you go to purchase a family ticket, that it is for 2 adults and 2 children? Is this really still the average sized family? A lot of my friends and family have three or more children, I myself am one of three children and as you will know from reading my blog, I have four children myself. It almost seems like we are penalised for having a bigger than "average" family and I know I sound like a stroppy teenager but well that just isn't fair and yes I do say this as I stamp my foot on the floor!!!
Just like in supermarkets and shops, ticket prices for theme parks, zoos, national trust etc seem to rise year on year but the same can't be said for people's wages. There is always moaning about the economy and people not spending enough to help out businesses but surely if they want us to keep visiting these places, they should be doing something to entice us in?
It would be really nice if there were family tickets for bigger families. I'm not saying we should pay the same price as families of four should because I am aware there are more of us going in. You could however set different price family tickets depending on how many children you have but still save the families money, instead of having to buy lots of single tickets.
Do you find days out expensive, have you found ingenius ways to save money on days out? Would love to know any tips that you care to share!!

Teen Beach Movie Soundtrack Review
I think sometimes a film can really be recognised when it has a great soundtrack to accompany it.
Disney premiered it's latest film, Teen Beach Movie, last Friday, the 19th of July on the Disney channel and I was lucky enough to be sent a digital copy of the soundtrack to listen to and review.
The newest film to come from Disney is described as a contemporary surf-rock musical. With main characters Mckenzie (Maia Mitchell and Brady (Ross Lynch), it depicts how 1960's sensibilities motivate a modern girl to affirm her capabilities, strengths and goals.
The soundtrack consists of 12 tracks as well as 3 bonus instrumental tracks, it is a good mix of rock and pop.
1. Oxgen - Maia Mitchell
2. Surf Crazy - Spencer Lee, Keely Hawkes and cast
3. Cruisin for a Bruisin - Ross Lynch, Grace Phipps and Jason Evigan
4. Fallin for ya - Grace Phipps
5. Meant to be - Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell, Grace Phipps, Spencer lee, Garrett Clayton
6. Like me - Maia Mitchell, Ross Lynch, Grace Phipps, Spencer Lee and cast
7. Meant to be (reprise 1) - Spencer Lee and Grace Phipps
8. Can't stop singing - Ross Lynch and Maia Mitchell
9. Meant to be (reprise 2) - Ross Lynch and Maia Mitchell
10. Surf's up - Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell and cast
11. Coolest cat's in town - Grace Phipps, Spencer Lee and Jason Evigan
12. Surf crazy finale - Teen beach movie cast
13. Cruisin for a bruisin (instrumental)
14. Fallin for ya (instrumental)
15. Surf's up (instrumental)
My girls loved listening to this. They were able to dance around the room and my eldest after having it on repeat has started to learn the words and sing along to it as well, very catchy tunes in my opinion.
The music I would describe as quite "retro" which works well with the theme of the film and it most certainly kept my daughter's entertained.
The film itself is aimed more at children between the ages on 6 and and 14 years old but the soundtrack can be enjoyed by people of all ages. My 3 year old Gracie was having a whale of a time jumping around to the different songs. And anyone that knows me will tell you that I love a good beat, so yes I was jumping around like a loon to the music too!!
When I asked my kids what their favourite song off the album was, I was surprised that for once they all picked something different instead of the same song :
Gracie said - "my favourite was Surf's up because it is fun to dance to"
Freya said - "my favourite was Oxygen because the girl has a lovely voice"
Elise said - "my favourite was Meant To Be, I love the girl and boy singing together"
With a mix of fast and slow paced songs, there is definitely something for everyone on this soundtrack, it compliments the film well, another quality product from Disney.
This soundtrack is now available to purchase from the shops, online or download it from iTunes right now, great Summer CD!!!

Always Looking For a Bargain
As a mum to four children, I go through my fair share of toiletries, you know the one shampoo and conditioner for all that long hair, bubble baths etc Not only that but three out of four my children and myself suffer from eczema so some of the products I purchase aren't the cheapest.
I was recently contacted by someone from Chemist Direct to see if I would like to review a couple of products from their site.
For those of you that haven't heard of this site before, Chemist Direct is Europe's leading online chemist which provides over 20,000 health and beauty products and perscription medicines at the lowest guaranteed prices, this is very attractive to myself as any money saved really does help these days!! It is fully regulated by Uk government bodies and is even supervised by fully qualified pharmacists.
I was given the option to choose items myself, so I chose a couple of products relevant to myself and my family, Eucerin bath and shower therapy and Jungle insect repellant ready for our holiday abroad this year. Keep an eye on my blog for reviews of these products coming in the next couple of weeks.
I love that there is live help on the site, so if you are struggling to find a certain product or unsure if a certain item is really suitable for you, you can get the answers you need quite quickly, no hassels.
Chemist Direct offer free standard delivery for orders over £40 and charge £3.49 for orders under £40, this I think is a reasonable charge compared to other companies these days. Standard delivery can take between 1-5 days to reach you. You also have the option to pay £4.75 for next business day delivery through Parcel Force, again not overly expensive.
I was really impressed with how fast my delivery arrived. It was sent through My Hermes and arrived packaged neatly and securely in a box, with no damage to the parcel. It took 3 days to arrive after ordering which isn't long to wait in my opinion.
With Chemist Direct allowing you to get your perscriptions, toiletries etc all in one place, it is a great site to buy from especially if you struggle to get out and about to buy things in town or if you are like myself and kept busy with the kids, then you can get everything conviniently delivered straight to your door.
It is one of those sites that I wish I had found sooner. Why not have a look yourself and see if you can find yourself a bargain!!

Excited to unpack the pushchair, must be a mum thing
I was EXTREMELY excited when I got an email last week to tell me that I had been picked as one of ten other people to be a Maxi-cosi reporter and that I was going to be testing the newly improved Loola pushchair.
Well those of you that know, will know I am a huge pushchair addict, infact at this moment in time I have four pushchairs in my house, Daddy Hazelden thinks this is absurb, I on the other hand think I could do with atleast a couple more.
Being a Maxi-cosi reporter means that we will get set four tasks to complete with our pushchairs over a 4 week period. Our first task was to unpack and put together the Loola, now I bet you are all thinking that this task is way too easy, well yes it is simple but when you are rushing to to piece it together without looking at the instructions first (I may be talking about me) well then it could take slightly longer than anticipated.
Firstly let me just show you the box the Loola arrived in.
I have to say I was glad my mum was around when the pushchair arrived because it was well and truly suctioned in the box.
To get it out was like a game of tug of war, my mum held the box whilst I held on to the pushchair and we both pulled.
Luckily neither of us fell over in the process and as you can see we managed to release the Loola from the clutches of the cardboard box, you can now all breathe a sigh of relief, phew.
Now to admire all the lovely parts that came with the Loola :
* instructions (important part!!!)
* parasol clip
* bumper bar
* car seat adaptors
* seat unit
*chassis
* raincover
* baby nest
*hood
In the email we received about the first task, it did say in the worst case scenario we could read the instructions, so I took this to mean that I really should try without them first. Having had a Loola previously, I found it simple to unfold the frame, first moving the handle bar up by clicking the button on each side of the handle. Then I pulled up on the other white bits on the side of the frame, I really should learn the name for those. I then clicked the seat unit into place, one side at a time. Then I was left scratching my head, the frame seemed a tad wobbly, so I may have had a sneaky peek at the instructions and embarassingly realised that I had forgotton to push down the pedal in the middle of the frame at the back, blushes.
As I was putting together the pushchair I was making note of all the features :
* the seat unit can lie flat
* the harness has lovely padding
* well padded seat unit
* gated bumper bar
* front wheels can be locked using buttons on the frame rather than on the wheels (no dirty hands or bending down)
* easily accesable basket
* one hand recline
* adjustable handle height
One of the stand out features for me so far, is the hood. In this lovely sunny weather we are having at the moment, it is important for me to be able to shade Layla.
The hood attaches by clicking it into the sides of the chassis, zipping onto the seat covers and poppering over the frame at the top, nice and secure!!!
As you can see from the photo to the right, it has many positions, there is even a zip in the hood to extend it further, see the last picture.
The hood itself stands up quite high, which not only gives better coverage from the sun but I think this would allow a child on the taller side to have plenty of room too.
You can also see there is a plastic section which allows you to keep an eye on your little one without having to disturb them, great if they are napping because trust me, you never want to wake a sleeping baby!!!
One of the accessories that came with the pushchair was the raincover, I am really hoping that I don't have to use this any time soon but I thought I best work out how to use it just incase.
So easy to put on, just place over the top and pull down. Your little one won't get drenched waiting for you to fit it if you get caught in a sudden shower!!
There is an elastic loop at the bottom that gets over and behind the seat, no more naughtly feet kicking it off.
It is elasticated at the bottom which allows for stretching and longer legs to have room.
Vent holes on the side allow good air circulation without the child getting rain drops on them.
And it folds down to be very compact, so fits in the basket with ease.
For the grand finale, I had to learn how to fold the pushchair. Easy peasy and before you think it, I didn't look at the instructions this time. It is literally the unfolding process in reverse, put the handle into it's lowest pushing, pull up those button things that I don't know the name of, push up on the pedal at the back and the chassis will slide closed. I was more than a bit happy to find out that the frame can be collapsed with seat unit still attached but not only that, this can be done with the seat unit in either forward facing or parent facing mode, amazing I hear you all cry!!

After all the excitement, my girls informed me that none of what I have written was the best part of unpacking, oh no the best part for them was the cardboard box, so thank you Maxi-cosi for not only the puschair but the packaging too. Have a look at the short video below just to give you an idea of what I mean.
There we have it, task one complete, looking forward to the next few weeks, keep an eye out for what happens next.

A bit of me time with my BabyBag
So after challenge one and two, last week we were set our third challenge by Lin & Leo. We were challenged to have a bit of "me time" and to come back and show how we spent our time.
Now my response to this was, "this really is a challenge". As a mum to four kids, I don't really get time to myself because during the week, Daddy Hazelden is busy working so I look after our brood and the weekend is spent enjoying time together as a whole family.
With this in mind, let me show you those little bits of free time I managed to find this week :

This is me with a rare bit of quiet time. Ok ok so I might not be out and about but do you see anyone else around?? Eldest two were at school, three year old at playschool and Layla was having a rare nap upstairs. So this how I like to spend my "me time", with my bum firmly plonked on the sofa and laptop infront of me, this is when I catch up on my blog posts, get tweeting etc (yes I am a social media addict). As you can see my BabyBag spent this time with me, well it did have my note book in there which reminds what reviews I need to write every day.
By this point you may think I am cheating slightly with this challenge but honestly "me time" is so hard to come by. Monday night I actually had a bath with no children joining me, well for 5 minutes atleast, a couple of monkeys did eventually venture in to have a chat with me but I thought while I was on my lonesome the BabyBag could join me and keep me company!!
My final go at having "me time", well it is a running joke in our household that going to toilet in the house seems to be a spectators sport so just for this challenge I had to change this habit didn't I. And yes I know what you are all thinking, what a lovely pair of knickers I am wearing!! :)
So there we have it, challenge three attempted, not sure if I passed this one but I'm sure you will agree I should get an A for effort!!.
Bring on challenge 4

Aspire Calorie Burning Drink Review
So if you read my blog regularly you will have seen that I have been trying to lose weight and get into shape, just take a look at this post here.
Just over two weeks ago I was sent two weeks worth of Aspire calorie burning drinks. This was surprising in itself because I was only expecting one or two cans!!
The idea of this drink is that it is meant to increase your metabolism, therefore helping you to burn those pesky calories.
Just over two weeks ago I was sent two weeks worth of Aspire calorie burning drinks. This was surprising in itself because I was only expecting one or two cans!!
The idea of this drink is that it is meant to increase your metabolism, therefore helping you to burn those pesky calories.
The main ingredients of this carbonated drink are :
* guarana extract
* green tea extract
* ginger
* l - carnitine
Each of these ingredients combined together are supposed to raise your bodies metabolism, suppress appetite, accelerate weight loss and play a role in the oxidisation of fats (not sure what that means myself).
The drink is also made up with various vitamins and minerals which is always a good thing.
Aspire actually performed a study at the Carnegie Centre Laboratory in the Leeds Metropolitan University that showed these drinks will on average help you burn up to 209 calories without increasing your heart rate, these drinks actually have the same amount of caffeine in them as a standard cup of coffee.
I was instructed to drink two cans a day. One to be consumed before I ate my breakfast to kick start my metabolism for the day and one whilst I ate my lunch.
I weighed myself on day one and the scales said 7 stone and 9 pounds exactly. I was also instructed to measure my waist, this came out at 25.5 inches. And then the challenge began.
It all started well, I kept the cans chilling in the fridge, although I'm sure they would be just as nice poured over ice. The cranberry flavouring was quite nice and although carbonated, it wasn't too fizzy. This challenge was probably a good thing for me because I'm known to not drink a lot during the day and with each can being around 250ml, I was getting about half a litre of drink a day just from consuming these.
I will say, I didn't change my diet or exercise routine whilst I was taking part in this challenge, I thought this way, I would be able to gauge better whether the drinks had any affect.
There were no side affects from drinking Aspire, it was just like drinking any can of fizzy pop. I have to admit I forgot a couple of times to drink the lunch time ones and ended up drinking them with my dinner instead, not sure if this would have had any adverse affect at all?
At the end of the two weeks I hopped on the scales again and I had lost the grand total of one whole pound, so I now way 7 stone and 8 pounds and according to the tape measure, I had stayed the same size around my waist, atleast I hadn't gained any inches!!
Overall I would say these drinks definitely seemed to give me more energy but I don't think this drink will be a magical fix in helping someone lose weight but this may be different for someone who has more weight to lose than me. The taste, although not bad, after two weeks of drinking it, I can say I don't want to drink cranberry again for a while. I think it would have been better if there were different flavours available so that you could vary it from day to day. I would say they are worth trying at the very least just for that energy boost, much better than a can of red bull!!!
Aspire is available in Tesco for £1.45. For more information visit www.aspiredrinks.com or their Facebook page:www.facebook.com/aspiredrink.

A Rare Day With Gracie
Having four children means I sometimes struggle to share my time equally between them. Things happen and I end up having to spend more time with one daughter than I do with the others. It also seems a rare occurance that I get uninterupted time with one of my lovely girls.
Yesterday was the day for Gracie's playschool trip. Parents are required to go with their children, this was a great opportunity for me to get some one on one time with my lovely little three year old.
The trip was to Wingham Wildlife Park in Kent. Gracie actually made everyone's day by a passing comment she made whilst we began her journey, we had only just started going and she said excitedly, "this is the way to the tip", Daddy Hazelden really takes her on the best trips :)
We saw lots of animals ranging from tigers, penguins, monkeys, flamingoes, owls, crocodiles and squirmy snakes.

Bless my Gracie Cakie, her favourite parts of the day were when she got to choose the ice cream that I had promised her and of course lunch time, anyone would think I starve my children!! Infact her first words when we arrived were "is it lunch time yet?".
Of course there was the obligitory posing for photos, Gracie magically turned into some different animals. I wish you could have heard her roar when she turned into the tiger.
I took so many photos yesterday but I didn't think you would want to see a whole albums worth so I just put a few more together in one picture. My favourite photo of the day has to be Gracie leaping off of a bench, nice to be so care free!!
Of course the day wouldn't be complete without a little paddy throwing. My lovely daughter decided mummy's company was indeed rubbish and would much prefer to spend the day with her favourite teacher Christina, I was really feeling the love then, the little monkey.
So have any of you been on your children's school trips this year, where did you go??

Thank You Teacher
As the end of another school year approaches, we as parents start thinking about what gifts to buy our children's teachers to thank them for what they have done over the school year. Excuse my rant and I know I probably sound harsh, however quite frankly it is another expense I could do without.
It seems to be a struggle every year to come up with something to buy that doesn't cost the earth because I don't know about the rest of you but I don't want to give the obligitory bookmark or magnet, poor teachers must have millions of these floating around their houses by now.
It has become yet another tradition that we have fallen into and I don't know about what other parents think, but I feel guilty seeing other people giving presents that look loads better than what I'm giving, almost feel like I am back at school myself, competing for first prize!!
There is a flip side to all of this though. This year I have been thinking about it even more though.
I love my eldest daughter's teacher, can't fault her, so helpful, always pushing for the kids to do more, the whole class has improved this year.
Then there is my five year old, although doing well in school, hasn't had the best teacher. Many of the parents have complained to her and about her because there seemed to be a distinct lack of teaching going on, there is a curriculum set for a reason and she hasn't stuck to it one bit, the children have only just finished learning their letters, something which should have been done by Christmas last year. Infact the poor teaching assistant seems to have been doing her job for her!!!
Only last week Freya got sent home with a reading book, which you could quite clearly see that she had read only a couple of weeks ago, simple mistake maybe, it just seemed to be in line with many others.
So I guess I'm thinking do we "have" to buy gifts for all of our kids teachers, especially if we feel that they haven't done what is required of them, as in that sense what would we really be thanking them for?
I'm in two minds what to do about this because I don't want to come across rude or ungrateful but in all honesty myself and my eldest daughter have done more learning with Freya at home than she has done at school this year.
Do any of you feel that your kids teachers haven't done the best for you child this year? Are you looking forward to them getting a new teacher?

When did she get so clever?
It suddenly dawned on me today that in a couple of days my lovely five year old Freya would have completed her first year in primary school. It seems to have flown by and she really took to the whole learning thing like a duck to water!!
She came up to me this morning after having a play on her megasketcher and showed me what she had been writing.
She came up to me this morning after having a play on her megasketcher and showed me what she had been writing.
I helped her to spell the word once when she asked but the rest of the words were all written and spelt by her. Now a sentence may not seem the most exciting thing to most of you but it definitely makes me one proud mummy. It also reminds me just how fast our children seem to grow up!!!

Funky Giraffe Moccasins Review and Giveaway
When your little ones are younger, you want them to have their feet covered up, obviously you don't want those little tootsies getting cold but one thing I have always struggled with, is getting them to keep anything on their feet and the other problem there is that quite often I'm left with odd socks, you know they have gone to that special missing sock land never to be seen again.
Layla is just going through that stage now, where everything must be put in her mouth, including the smelly socks off her toes.
Funky Giraffe very kindly sent me a pair of their Moccasins to try out and review, I hope you all have your fingers crossed that these will stay on that little pair of feet!!
These lovely Moccasins come in a variety of designs, so there will definitely be one suitable for any child. I picked the gorgeous Flower Fancy design, half because it had my favourite colour purple on there and half because they were just so unbelievably cute.
Available in sizes 1-4, these are perfect for both little ones who sit still or for those cheeky ones that are on the move!! Made with flexibe leather soles and cotton sock for the upper, I can't find a single negative thing to say about the.
Simple to put on, no fighting to squish feet into stiff pairs of shoes or trying to stretch socks to fit the feet.
The flexibility of the sole means that your little ones feet are allowed to stay in their natural positioning, mean they can strengthen and develop correctly.
The cotton sock is superb, soft and comfy. You can have them pulled right up covering your child's legs or rolled down if it is a warmer day, making them ideal for use all year round. They grip the leg which makes it harder for your little one to pull them off, although I have to say Layla did still manage it, she is one determined monkey.
