Caffeine - My Best Friend

Throughout my life many things have changed, nothing tends to stay the same does it? As I've got older friends have come and gone, more often than I'd like really but for quite a few years one of my friends has remained a constant in my life, his name is caffeine. Infact I would go as far to say that caffeine has become my very best friend :)

My mate caffeine has changed somewhat over the years, funnily enough, thinking about it, he seemed to change at the same times as I did, I suppose he was just moving with the times.

I remember when I met caffeine, I was sixteen years old, caffeine introduced himself as a lovely bottle of cherry coke, we got talking and we soon started meeting up twice a day, he liked to keep me company at lunch times. I would say he made me happy, my mum would say he made me hyper.

As I turned eighteen, caffeine morphed into red bull, on occasion he came along with his friend vodka, I happened to like his friend a lot!! Caffeine was there for the drunken highs and the hangover lows, aaa the memories.

It was around the time that I became a mum when I started to get really close to caffeine, this happened to be when he matured into coffee. He now visits me once or twice a day, always in the morning and if needed, in the afternoon too. He is very understanding, he accepts that I am tired a lot of the time but he really motivates me, gives me that much needed boost to get up and moving. I mean what are best friends for.

I've heard on the grapevine that there a lot of people out there who have a best friend called caffeine too, seems to be a common name these days, do you have a best friend called caffeine too??

  1. ha ha, i too used to have a best friend called caffeine until i fell pregnant then i chose caffeine free wherever possible. I used to suffer from blinding headaches but they virtually stopped whilst i was pregnant. i then started on drinks containing caffeine again and my headaches returned.

I love caffeine too, actualy me and caffeine are getting a little too close in recent months, he's been keeping me company around 8 times a day, sometimes more....I think i might need to tell him to back off a little, this however is very hard, he never judges me, doesnt matter if my house is messy, ive not put my makeup on or brushed my hair, i love you caffeine <3

  7. I used to be very close to our mutual friend caffeine, but we had a bit of a falling out! His antics were keeping me up all night so I had to get a restraining order a few years ago. We've reconciled now but our contact is limited. We spend time together only once a day. First thing in the morning only. Caffeine is lovely to wake up to in the morning! The arrangement works well. No more trouble sleeping!

  11. I have been married to Caffeine for 25 years! When I got preggers both times I thought I could never give up coffee but luckily the pregnancy hormones made it taste like horse shit so it was easy to give up. Hope you and caffeine have many more happy years together #PoCoLo

  12. Thank you ever so much for linking up to Share With Me. I loved, loved your post. I am a huge coffee drinker and I married caffeine years ago. Although he has lost some weight and is now decaf for health reasons. I still urge for that tiny caffeine whether I have to get it through chocolate or one regular coffee every now and again. I visit him if I can. I feature my favorite post every week from the previous week share with me and this is absolutely my favorite from last week's link up. Thank you ever so much for linking up and sharing with me. It was great to get to know more about you and more about your blog. Come check out wednesday's new edition which will feature your post as the favorite! Congrats. Hope to see you again soon.

  13. Haha brilliant! I've had a very bumpy relationship with caffeine. Sometimes he just wouldn't leave me alone and sometimes I had to break contact entirely. I think we're OK at the moment though, and are maintaining a healthy balance. He definitely keeps me company in the early mornings and I don't think I could live without him, what with my husband living abroad at the moment! ;)

  15. Me and caffeine? There are spells where we're at it 4 or 5 times a day ... and then times when I swear off it completely for my own good. Sometimes these periods of abstinence last as long as a full week!
