Sea, Sun and Wind

When the sun comes out to play the first place that always springs to mind to go to is the beach. It is days like this that I'm reminded how lucky we are to live by sea.

I was excited at the idea of fresh air and sunshine whilst the girls were happy about the prospect of ice cream, either way it was going to be a good day for all.

This was actually the first time that I'd taken all four kids out by myself without putting Layla in a pushchair. So with sunglasses and Goldbug reins at the ready we set out to walk down the seafront.

It didn't take as long as I thought to make it down there, although I did end up carrying little legs for part of the distance.

However once down there the wind took over from where the sun began, it was shall we say a tad blustery, this didn't deter us though.

You can see from the smiles below.

We did of course get the obligatory ice cream, I was smart this time though because I came prepared with wipes so there was minimal ice cream meltage over the clothes, only took me til the 4th child to be this organised!!

After ice cream came the pebbles.

Layla gained herself freedom to run for a while.

Freya and Gracie were having fun throwing pebbles in the water, like they're mother, they do not have the skill for skimming.

And Elise was busy building rock castles.

We finished off our outing with a look out to sea.

Oh we do like to be beside the seaside, oh we do like to be beside the sea, sun and wind.

  3. Your girls sound just like my gang, bribe them out with ice cream but when they get there they actually have a lovely time with something simple like throwing stones into the water! A lovely looking day and as you say so lovely to live by the sea. Thank you for sharing on Country Kids.
