Dork Diaries Drama Queen Book Review

In April my eldest daughter was given the chance to review the latest Dork Diaries book. These books are the personal diaries of 14 year old Nikki Maxwell and they feature a mix of drawings, doodles and comic strips, showcasing all of her daily dramas.

Well Rachel Renee Russell has been busy because the newest installment to the Dork Diaries series has already arrived, introducing Drama Queen!!!

TOTAL DISASTER!!! Mean girl Mackenzie has stolen Nikki's diary! What if she tells everyone Nikki's totally secret thoughts?!

But reading Nikki's doary isn't the only thing Mackenzie's interested in. Get ready for Dork Diaries with a twist as Mackenzie takes over and tells all about her GLAMFABULOUS life! What does the queen bee really think about Nikki and her dorky friends?

I will leave you in the capable hands of Elise to tell you what she thinks of the book :

Dork Diaries Drama Queen is about when Mackenzie steals Nikki's diary and starts writing in it. Mackenzie actually nicks Nikki's new website, discusses her feelings about Nikki (shock) and tells you about her tricks. Keep reading to find out more….

My favourite bit is when Brianna kills the goldfish. It really must stink! It was also funny when Amanda (Mackenzie's sister) starts playing around. You could definitely tell that she is spoilt! That was the one thing I realised Nikki and Mackenzie have in common, annoying sisters (like mine!).

I recommend this for anyone who likes a lot, and I mean a lot of drama because this book is absolutely full of it as well as excitement, romance (aaaa) and bad moments.

My final verdict, a great read for any booker lover.

Is it sad that I actually like reading these books too? Some of the things written remind me of my drama filled school days, well atleast I thought they were at the time ;)

This series just keeps getting better and it has been kept fresh by switching up the narrative so it gets a big thumbs up from me too. A set of books definitely worth collecting.

Disclaimer : I was sent this book FOC for reviewing purposes however all thoughts and opinions are my own.

  1. Awww, love that pic of her with all the books! I think a good YA style book is one that parents like to dip into a well - shows the quality of writing is good :-)

  2. You must love the series if you have so many of the books! Like Sarah says it's great when the parents find them fun to read too :)

  3. Children's girl story books are one thing missing from our household so I haven't come across these, but I do admit to dipping into my sons' books sometimes #readwithme
