Just A Mum?

Since having children I have been what is known as a stay at home mum. Some people believe that this means I have an easy life because I'm just a mum aren't I, it isn't a "job", it's not something I get paid to do so can't really be considered work. This however doesn't make it any less of a hard thing to do.

When I signed up to have children I made this conscious decision knowing that my life would change, for the better I might add but like with marriage, I knew I'd be there through the good, the bad and the ugly.

I might be just a mum to those people on the outside looking in on my life but to my kids I am that and so much more.

I'm just a mum who becomes an alarm clock each morning, waking the kids before they have a chance to wake me.

I'm just a mum who cleans, washes and irons, making sure that both the children and the house they live in are clean and presentable (most of the time).

I'm just a mum who turns into a chef when substinance is required, seriously where does all the food go?

I'm just a mum who nurses her children back to health when they are sick or injured.

I'm just a mum who has the perfect shoulder to cry on and a sympathetic ear to listen to oh so many troubles.

I'm just a mum who tries to fix any problem no matter how big or small in the hopes that it will make the kids happy.

I'm just a mum who can make anything seem a little better with a simple cuddle, you cannot deny that mummy cuddles are the best!

All these things I do for free, I will be on call for the rest of my life as far as my children are concerned but do you know what I'm not complaining because I am damn proud to be 'just a mum'.
