Spooktastic Halloween Recipes

It's nearly time for Halloween so the kids have been requesting to bake some spooktastic cakes and cookies. I thought a nice easy recipe would be for some scrummy gingerbread biscuits, gingerbread for me is one of the foods that seem to go hand in hand with the colder months.

These biscuits are easy to make so make a perfect recipe for the whole family to join in making, including any little ones.

We followed the simple recipe provided on the BBC website, they made gingerbread men instead of anything spooky but this is easily adapted by using whatever cookie cutters you may have to hand.

Unfortunately we lost our Halloween cookie cutters but we soldiered on and managed to make some scary looking skulls.

The great thing about a gingerbread recipe is that you tend to have all of the ingredients to hand in the cupboard so it is something you can make at the last minute if necessary.

Below are picture of my brood getting their bake on. Of course they've already eaten them all so we'll be making another batch next week!!

Here are some other ghoulish recipes for you to try :

Cheerios Frankenstein's Monsters from Madhouse Family Reviews

Eerie Eyeball Cakepops from A Strong Coffee

Spider Web Cupcakes from The MadHouse

Slimetastic Jelly Worms from The Gingerbread House

And finally these fantastic Oreo Witch Hats from SuperBusyMum

What is you favourite Halloween themed recipe, I'd love for you to share your ideas in the comments.
