Project Mc2 Doll Review

The girls recently found a new TV programme to watch, the Netflix original series Project Mc2. It introduces a world where science and style are combined and you realise that it is actually cool to be smart. Something that my eldest daughter can totally relate to, she quite happily calls herself a geek because she knows there is absolutely nothing wrong with being intelligent.

To coincide with the TV show, a new line of dolls have been released. These are made to inspire tween girls and let them know that being smart and savvy is definitely on trend!!

There are four dolls which go alongside the characters of the show : Camryn Cole, Bryden Bandweth, Adrienne Attoms and McKeyla McAlister. These girls are not only best of friends but they are part of a secret organisation NOV8 (innovate). So of course when playing with the dolls you can start up your own seriously cool and secret club too.

We were lucky enough to be sent Bryden Bandwerth to review. Elise (my eldest) was over the moon when this arrived in the post. It is a toy that she can really relate with and she couldn't wait to unbox her.

Aimed at children aged 6+, each doll comes complete with their own exciting experiment for you to do at home. Bryden comes with a pretty neat glow stick. It was a nice surprise because at first the girls just thought it was an ordinary comb!

On the back of the box there is a message from Bryden herself. Turns out she vlogs, now my girls spend a lot of their time watching videos on YouTube so this character is definitely keeping up with the times. This girl also likes to tweet, something even I can relate with ;)

Something else that you notice about this doll is the clothes that she wears. Her t-shirt says "I am the smartest pencil in the box", Elise has since requested that I get her that exact same top. These dolls certainly have the "geek chic" look down.

Priced at £14.99 I have to say I'm a fan. I like that these dolls are nothing like Barbie. They are promoting the fact that learning doesn't stop you having fun and that it is more than ok to not follow the crowd. i.e. the different outfits and interests.

This is a doll I'm more than happy to let my daughters play with and I won't be saying no if they ask me to complete their collection.

Disclaimer : I was sent this toy FOC for reviewing purposes however all thoughts and opinions are my own.

  2. Wow, this sounds cool. I'm glad your eldest daughter isn't ashamed of her intelligence.
