I can't believe we are 3 months into the year already. It has flown by, I don't feel like I've been trying to lose weight for that long and I'm surprised that I've managed to keep up doing a weekly weigh in and blogging about it. I think this is the longest I've ever stuck at being healthy.
So with my period out of the way I was hoping for good results on the scales but the scales didn't budge, I stayed the same however my measurements went back to what they were 2 weeks ago minus all the bloat.
This week I'm starting a new exercise challenge, I've downloaded the ebook from Kayla Itsines and I'm hoping to stick with this 12 week workout. I've seen lots of amazing photos on her instagram account of brilliant body transformations, a great motivation so fingers crossed these exercises will make a difference.

Read With Me #13
Welcome to this weeks Read With Me. I had a real treat last week when I got to Beta read a book for a friend, nice to be able to give some constructive thoughts on a story before it is even published.
I also read a series of books that I've had on my TBR list for a while.
The Needing Moore series by Julie A Richman follows the stories of Schooner and Mia.
Ok yes these are the romantic/erotic genres but what is interesting about these stories is that they aren't all told in the present and there is a great mix of both the male and females POVs in all of the books.
It was refreshing to get the characters back stories as well as their present day situations, allowed you to feel more for them.
Now my favourite post linked up last week couldn't be further away from the books that I was reading last week.

Project 365 2015 Week 13
I thought it was supposed to be Spring. I was looking forward to getting some more scenic photos for project 365 but the majority of this week has been filled with cold and rainy weather, this did nothing for my mood!!
It hasn't been all doom and gloom though. I had an update for Layla at playschool and she is hitting all of her targets, even though she can be a tad bossy shall we say. And I also had an update for Elise and even though she is in year 4, she is already working at a year5/6 level in all subjects, got her mums brains ;)
Day 81
Makeover time. Elise had over 6 inches cut off her hair, something I wasn't keen on doing but the smiles after made it worth it.

To Chop Or Not To Chop, That's The Question!
To chop or not chop that is the question!! It seems to have been the trend over the past year to go from super long hair to medium/shoulder length hair, atleast for the celebrities among us anyway.
Me, I've gone from long to short more times than I can count. I remember when I was around 10 years old that my hair was actually past my bum and I went ahead and chopped it all off, well almost all, I ended up with a below chin length bob. Quite extreme, something I certainly regretted after doing it.
The collage below shows a few styles I'verocked been seen with over the years. It was actually after posting my first ever profile picture on FB the other week that I started considering a change, a few friends commented on how nice my hair had looked, it's the second one down on the right on the picture below.

Protein Packed Snack Balls
Since trying to get fit, exercise more and generally just tone up my body, one thing I am increasing in my diet is the amount of protein I consume as it is great in aiding muscle building/recovery. I'm trying to incorperate this not only in my meals but my snacks too.
One of the latest crazes that I've seen is protein/energy balls. These small circular snacks can be made in all sorts of flavours, are generally low in calories and certainly pack a punch when it comes to the amount of protein they can contain.

LeapFrog's LeapReader Junior Review
I've always maintained that reading books is important no matter what age you are. My children have had books read to them from the moment they were born. The skill of reading itself is one learnt over time and it certainly isn't a bad thing encouraging this early on. The LeapReader Junior from LeapFrog is a reading aid which definitely helps with this.
We're Going On a Bunny Hunt
Easter, we're all thinking about it, I mean you can't miss all of the Easter eggs stacked up in the supermarket aisles. They've been there since Christmas was over. One thing my girls love is a good Easter egg hunt, their Grandad sets them one up yearly in his garden, but this year Lindt have very kindly provided us with the tools to create our very own gold bunny hunt.

Weekly Weigh In 24.03.2015
Almost a quarter of the way through the year and I'm still sticking with this whole weight loss thing even though I don't feel like any big changes have happened so far.
I was talking to my husband the other day and I said despite not really changing my body, I actually enjoy the lifestyle I've taken on. The healthier foods are far tastier, I'm cooking a lot more fresh foods and being more adventurous with my recipes and most days I actually look forward to doing some exercise.
Weighing in this week, I was scared to step on the scales as my period is trying to make an appearance so I was expecting a couple of exra pounds to go back on but surprisingly I lost 1/2 a lb.
My measurements altered slightly on the waist, putting on 1/2 an inch but my hips are still the same
slightly disappointing but I'm using the excuse of bloating!!

Read With Me #12
Hey there readers, welcome to this weeks Read With me. I hope you've all had time to settle down with a good book.
Last week I managed to read quite a few books but in a way I felt I cheated.
I was reading the Songs Of Submission series by C.D Reiss which consists of 7 books (plus another 2 if you want to read the short stories).
However each book was only around 150 pages long so not as long as a typical novel usually is.
These books did impress me though. Typically shorter books tend to not interest me as I feel they are rushed, details left out, left wanting more from the story but Reiss managed to reel me in.
I found myself picking each book in quick concession as I'd been left needing to know what happened next ASAP.

Hotel Chocolat Scrambled Egg Review and Giveaway
One thing I just can't give up is chocolate. I've had a sweet tooth ever since I was pregnant with my third child. Hotel Chocolat is up there as one of my favourite brands of chocolate, ever since I was given the chance to review some of their Christmas range a couple of years ago. So when I was asked if I'd like to review one of their Scrambled Egg Easter eggs there was no way I could say anything but YES!
There scrambled egg range consists 4 different versions : dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate and milk free chocolate.
I would have prefered the dark one but I opted for the milk chocolate as I was considering sharing some with my hubby.
The Easter egg arrived beautifully packaged in a gorgeous carrier bag with their signature logo, all tied up with a bow.

We Heart Cheerios
It is no secret that we love Nestle cereal in this house, especially those cheery little o's. Did you know that Cheerios recently released a new low sugar oat version that has just 1.4g of sugar per serving, great news for all those families who are trying to follow a balanced and nutritional diet.
Anyway, to show the love, my girls and I were asked if we'd like to first try the cereal and then get creative. I've made cakes with cheerios before but never any art so I thought this could be a fun task.
I can firstly confirm that these O's are certainly just as tasty as normal cheerios, the pack that we were sent has already been devoured.
We were sent a pretty impressive crafting pack along with our Cheerios which contained all the materials we would need to get creative including ribbon, wire, pipe cleaners paper, scissors and glue.

Apple, Cinnamon and Flaxseed Muffins
I love cake. It is no secret but since trying to stick to healthy eating it just seems to call to me more. But worry not, there are so many healthy recipes out there that I don't need to take cake off of the menu!! My latest offering is a muffin that is both full of favour and full of dietary benefits.
Flaxseed is both high in protein and high in fibre so the perfect ingredient to add into your diet. It can mixed in with cakes, smoothies, porridge, the possibilities are endless.

Barbie In Princess Power DVD Review
My girls have always been huge fans of Barbie, we have the dolls, the houses, the make up and plenty of DVDs. They were more than excited when the latest DVD came through the letterbox. So what has Barbie become this time? Why a superhero of course.
Barbie in Princess Power is the newest feature film which stars Barbie as Kara, a modern day princess who leads an every day life, that is until she is kissed by a magical butterfly.
This is when everything changes. Kara soon discovers that she has some amazing super powers and magically transforms into Super Sparkle but there's danger ahead.
Her cousin also finds the butterfly and turns into Dark Sparkle, but is she the real enemy?

The Dreamsnatcher Book Review
My daughter and I are very much alike when it comes to reading, we love books and even better when we get to discover new authors. We were recently chosen to read and review Abi Elphinstone's debut book, The Dreamsnatcher, we couldn't wait to get stuck in…
Moll Oecksniff wakes one night in the middle of the forest, lured there by a recurring nightmare - the one with the drums and the rattles and the masks. The Dreamsnatcher is waiting…
Because Moll is more important than she knows. The Oracle Bones foretold that she and Gryff, a wildcat who's always been by her side, are the only ones who can fight back against the Dreamsnatcher's dark sorcery. Suddenly everything is at stake, and Moll finds herself drawn into a world of secrets, magic and adventure.

February's Degustabox, What's Inside?
I always look forward to receiving my monthly Degustabox, this time I couldn't have been happier when I opened up my box, it was like it had been taylor made for me. So many items that I'd been considering trying and others that I hadn't heard of but that would be a welcome addition to my diet, I bet you're wondering what's inside….
Whole Earth Peanut Butter with Sunflower, Pumpkin and Flaxseed £3.19 - Now this peunut butter is quite expensive however you can tell buy the taste just why the price is so high. Packed full of protein it makes the perfect spread on toast. I've been mixing it with cottage cheese and having it as a snack after exercising.

A Family Book Club Party
A couple of weeks ago I mentioned the reading guide which LeapFrog had put together, this was filled with tips on how to get kids reading at home. One of the suggestions was holding a book club party, something you can do as a family or your children can do with friends. It gives them the opportunity to read the same book as others and discuss what they thought about the story, the characters etc.
LeapFrog were kind enough to provide my kids and I with the bits needed to hold a book club party of our own, the book we were going to be looking at was Sofia the First, which is compatible with LeapFrog's very own LeapReader.
I'll be reviewing the LeapReader very soon but for now let me show you just how well our party went.
We were given lots of goodies including dressing up outfits, decorations, colouring kits and plenty of items to pop into party bags.

Weekly Weigh In 17.03.2015
Before I even stepped on the scales this week I was feeling good in myself. I'm trying not to stress so much about the scales and the measuring tape and just enjoying what I'm doing more.
I got back to exercising on Tuesday, nothing too strenuous as I still wasn't 100% but it felt good to be working out again. I've decided like to give yoga a go as this is meant to be good for toning and destressing!!
The scales actually showed a welcome difference for a change, I lost 1 and half lbs but my measurements stayed the same (not a bad thing).
I keep getting stuck around the 7 stone 8 mark, really want to shift those last few pounds but not sure how to kick start it?
Food wise I have stuck to a 80:20 ratio of healthy vs junk. One thing I've added to my menu is smoothies after workouts, I'm adding a scoop of protein powder to help with building muscle. I actually have a recipe from vegfest.co.uk to share with you all :
- handful of kale leaves
- short knob of cucumber
- juice of half a lemon
- knob of ginger (sliced)
- 1 teaspoon of Yaoh hemp protein powder
- 1 teaspoon of baobab powder
- 1 teaspoon of chlorella powder
- 1/2 pint of coconut water
- 2 bananas (sliced)
Simply add all of the ingredients into a blender and you have a healthy drink/snack that will help your body to recover after exercising!!

Read With Me #11
Hello. Welcome to this weeks Read With Me. I hope you've all managed a spot of reading over the past week.
Every third week I get to read a lot because the hubby is working nights so my evenings are filled with books and chocolate whilst he works, it's a hard life :)
Last week I read two books by two of my favourite authors who never fail to write brilliant books.
Colleen Hoover released Confess and A Meredith Walters released The Contradiction of Solitude.
I'd been waiting inpatiently for both.
Each one had me turning pages quickly and I'd highly recommend reading them.

Project 365 2015 Week 11
Dare I say it but I think Spring is on its way. We've had plenty of sunshine this week although I had to admit it but that isn't really reflected in this weeks project 365 photos.
This has been a busy week filled with mother's day assemblies, parents evenings, parties and sleepovers.
I was happy to hear that both Gracie and Freya are doing really well at school well on target to achieve the goals set for them and plenty of time to exceed those targets. Elise's teacher was off sick so I'll have to wait to hear how she is getting on.
Hubby was back on nights so I made the mistake decision to let the older two have friends sleep over Friday night, I even had an extra friend round to play for a couple of hours, that was 7 kids in total at one point, 7 girls to be precise, think make up, one direction and princesses!!
Day 67
The girls and I still weren't 100% so it was a lazy day after a busy day on Saturday, not sure how this was comfortable for Freya!!

My #PILOTMUM Portraits
I happened to stumble across a fab competition over on Mummy's Little Monkey yesterday, I liked it because it was one that the kids could get involved in.
The My #PILOTMUM competition involves a simple task, my children needed to draw a picture of me using whatever materials they liked, well was always going to be interesting.
Mine opted to draw me using colouring pencils.
First up is Gracie (5) picture. Apparently I look a bit like an old granny with purple hair and for some reason my head is an awful lot bigger than my body?

Talking About 'That Time Of The Month'
Women all get 'that time of the month' eventually yet we all seem embarassed to say what it actually is. A period!!
It's a simple word that seems to have become taboo. I've heard it called so many things over the years and most sound worse than using its actual name. I mean who really wants to know that your 'on the blob' or that you've 'got the painters in'.
Lets be honest, it is a natural process that most women have to endure atleast a few times a year and although not something enjoyable, it is also not something to be feared.
I don't know when it became a subject to be avoided but I do remember when I started mine and not knowing what the feck was happening to me.
See my mum never sat me down and gave me 'the talk' and she never explained what changes would happen with my body, not sure why, feeling awkward and not knowing how to start the conversation maybe?

No Flour No Egg Cookies
Trying to diet can be hard, especially when you love cakes and cookies as much as I do. I mean it is hard to resist the flavours and the textures. And it doesn't help when the Great British Bake Off is playing on the TV either.
There is something about the smell of them baking in the oven that is really appealing too, and licking the bowl, this just calls to my inner child.
In an attempt to curb my cookie craving I have come up with a recipe that only needs 4 basic ingredients, there there is no flour of eggs involved so not only are they healthy, they can be eaten by almost anyone!!!

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic DVD Review
I remember making my brothers watch this with me when I was fed up with Transformers and Thunder Cats.
There are still a few characters that I recognise including Rainbow Dash however they've just been given a modern makeover….
It's a busy time in Ponyville as Twilight's birthday clashes with a high society event in Canterlot, it's family appreciation day at school and Rainbow decides to hold a competition for the honout of becoming her new pet!…
The DVD comes in a limited edition box which includes a My Little Pony toy (something I'm told we now need to collect) and is part of the second season and includes five different episodes :

Healthy and Beauty Round Up
I've been sent quite a few small samples recently which all fall into the health and beauty catergory so I thought I'd share with you my top 3 favourites.
Ginerva Green Tea Nude Cove BB Cream
Now I've been having a lot of trouble with my skin recently, a mixture of being run down and eczema/spot break outs has meant that my face certainly hasn't been looking it's best. This BB cream seemed to offer it all : coverage for all skin tones, all day hydration, SPF30 protection from UV rays and reduced formation of wrinkles and fine lines. Almost sounded too good to be true however this has now become a staple in my make up bag.

Serenata Hamper Review and Giveaway
I love a good surprise so when I was contacted recently by Serenata Flowers to see if I'd like to review one of the many hampers that they stock how could I refuse. Trouble was I couldn't decide which one I really wanted so I left it up to them to pick out one for me.
Can I say firstly, speedy delivery, I spoke to them in the afternoon and by the next day I had my hamper in hand, brilliant service.
The hamper I received was the Cheese Trug. Lots of scrummy cheese, crackers and chutney all gorgeously presented in a lovely basket.

Weekly Weigh In 10.3.15
So the last couple of updates I was back on track, losing weight slowly but steadily but last week I was struck down with illness, it was like I had the flu without the cold. Constantly going hot and cold, shovers, aches and pains and absolutely no energy. As a result I have to admit I did no exercise last week. Well I walked around etc but no workouts, I honestly just couldn't manage it.
However I did stick to eating relatively healthily, I admit to making a small chocolate brownie mug cake after watching the Great British Bake Off, taps own hand.
This made be reluctant to step on the scales this week but the results are in, I put back on the 1lb and half that I'd lost over the past 2 weeks. Disappointing but honestly I kind of knew that would be the case.
I also retook my measurements which I'm happy to say remained the same as last week so not all bad.
Starting afresh this week, I'm slowly introducing the workouts back in as I'm still not 100% but I can't put it off any longer.
However I did stick to eating relatively healthily, I admit to making a small chocolate brownie mug cake after watching the Great British Bake Off, taps own hand.

Read With Me #10
Hello lovely readers. Welcome to this weeks Read With Me. I was feeling rather poorly last week so reading was rather slow going.
However I did manage to read a book that I have been waiting for what seems like forever for.
Thoughtful by S C Stephens,
This is part of the Thoughless series, technically I think it would be classed as 1.5 but it is the 4th book which has been written.
What is different about this one is that it's told from the males POV.
I think it was well worth the wait. It didn't seem to repeat the story like other alternative POV books can do.
It managed to fill in the blanks and capture all of the emotions so well. I highly recommend the whole of this series to everyone.

Project 365 2015 Week 10
I think this has been the toughest week for Project 365 this year for me so far. Myself and Layla have been poorly, this tied in with lack of sleep has left me with minimal motivation to take many photos but like last year I really want to complete this project again so here goes….
Day 60
Freya came back from a sleepover looking just stunning ;)

30 Things To Do Before You're 30
This year I turned twenty nine, meaning I have less than a year before I reach the grand old age of thirty. Ok, I know age is but a number but it's had me thinking recently about all the things I've achieved in life so far and the dreams that still remain. Have I missed some vital moments, are there things that I need to get ticked of the "bucket list"?
Whilst deep in thought, I also put a question to some fellow bloggers, what are the 30 things you recommend doing before you turn 30?
Between myself and them, I've managed to compile quite a list. It is filled with the expected, the not so expected and the down somewhat outrageous. Take a look and see how many you can tick off :
1. Have children. I definitely achieved this, 4 daughters later and I've done more than my bit for the worlds population.
2. Fall in love. This happened early on for me, I was 18 and it was almost love at first sight. Over 10 years have passed and the love continues to grow.

30 Ways In 30 Days Guide
World book day is upon us. We all know how important books are, reading is such a big part of my children's lives however it might surprise you to know from research conducted on 1000 parents by LeapFrog that almost half of the parents in the UK lack both confidence and the knowledge to help their children continue the reading and literacy that they learn at school at home.
And it's because of this research and with LeapFrog reaching their 20th anniversary (big milestone!!) that they have created and launched a brilliant supportive booklet, the 30 ways in 30 days guide which is aimed to help parents learn ways in which to teach reading methods to their children and help instill a lifelong love of reading books!!
This guide offers both solutions and tools to tackle any reading problems and aims to get reading back into the family routine, even for the busiest of families. Including tips from educational expert and of The Good School Guide , Janette Wallis.
Tony Hicks, Chief International Officer at LeapFrog, comments: "LeapFrog was founded twenty years ago by a father who wanted to find a better way of teaching his son to read. Inspiring a love of reading and helping children achieve their full potential has been our passion ever since. We hope our new guide will be a great go-to resource for parents looking for different ways to help their children on their educational journey".

Sweet Potato Mug Cake Recipe
I can't deny it, I love cake, especially mug cakes. These individual puddings are literally to die for. The problem is that they aren't so good when it comes to my diet. I mean my norma nutella or peanut butter ones can't be considered the healthiest.
Trouble for me is that I tend to crave something sweet and I don't know about you but once I have something on my mind I feel I need to have it, sooner rather than later preferably.
So I have been trawling the web and racking my brain, trying to come up with an alternative that squashes my cravings but leaves me feeling less guilty when I reach the bottom of the cup.
I introduce to you the sweet potato mug cake…

Chad Valley PlaySmart Range Review
I am a huge fan of Chad Valley toys, I've had the pleasure of working with them in the past and most recently I reviewed some of their Design Boutiques range. So when I received a surprise delivery from them last month, I think I was more excited than the girls. Chad Valley have been going for 150 years now but they consistently come up with new and innovative products. this time they gave my girls and I the chance to have a play with their new PlaySmart range.
I was immediately impressed before opening the boxes because I am a huge believer of learning through play and these toys are designed to do just that. There are 19 toys in the range costing between £6.99 and £29.99, each one keeping in mind that learning should be fun.
We were sent : Family Fun Learning Games, Early Learning Pack, Jumbo Alphabet and Number Floor Jigsaws and Magnetic Learning Play Desk (this quickly became our favourite).

Princess Play Tent Review
All of my girls are very girly girls, they love anything pink and if it has something to do with princesses then you are definitely onto a winner, so when we were recently asked by Big Game Hunters if we'd like to review their Princess Play Tent, I just couldn't refuse.
Big Game Hunters actually stock a range of tents and wigwams, there are ones to suit any child's personality but the princess tent was most certainly the right choice for my children.
I was surprised when it arrived just how small (although heavy) the box was. My initial thought was that the tent surely wasn't going to be big enough for all my girls to fit in there, how wrong I was!!
The box contained instructions, poles, screws, plastic attachments and the fabric covering itself, the packaging had been very deceiving indeed.

The Butterfly Club Book Review
One of the things that is nice about the fact that my eldest daughter loving reading as much as myself is the fact that I can share books with her that I used to read when I was younger. One of my favourite children's book authors was Jacqueline Wilson so I was pleased when Elise also decided that Jacqueline was her author of choice. Having recently reviewed the Jacqueline Wilson magazine, we were more than pleased when we were recently chosen to review her latest book, The Butterfly Club, can you believe that this is the 101st book that she's written!!
Tina is a triplet, but she's always been the odd one out. Her sisters Phil and Maddie are better at just about everything. Luckily, they look after Tina wherever they go - but when the girls start in Miss Lovejoy's class they're split up for the first time.
Tina is horrified when she's paired up with angry bully Selma. But when Miss Lovejoy asks them to help her create a butterfly garden in the school playground, Tina discovers that she doesn't always need her sisters - and that there's a lot more to Selma than first meets the eye.
The Butterfly Club is written from Tina's point of view. In typical Jacqueline style, the writing is simple yet humerous and meaningful.

Weekly Weigh In 03.03.015
Well I've made to March and I haven't given up on my weight loss goals just yet although I have to say I haven't really noticed a change in my body over the past 4 weeks, despite continued exercise and eating well (most of the time). I tend to dread the weekly weigh in as I'm always left thinking that my efforts are never quite enough.
This weeks results are in, I've lost 1/2 a lb, a loss is a loss and I suppose slow and steady wins the race!!
However I finally remembered to buy a tape measure so this week starts the weekly measuring :
waist - 25 inches
hips - 35 inches
These measurements match up to what I managed to get down to last Summer so not bad at all, I don't want these to go down by a lot more but it would also be great to see them not go up even if the scales decide to tell me I've put on weight.
This morning I finally finished a 31 day fitness challenge, I really enjoyed a couple of the circuit training days so I'm going to keep using these to mix in with other workouts I'm doing. What I'm trying to do now is increase the size of weights that I'm using when doing weight/resistance training, at the moment the most I'm using is 1.5kg in each hand.

Read With Me #9
Hello there readers. Welcome to this weeks Read With Me. I hope you've managed to find some time to read whether it be by yourself or with your children.
I can't believe we've reached March already. 3 months into the year and I've already got a third of the way through my goodreads challenge, go me!!
Last week I sped my way through a series of books that I have been meaning to read for quite some time.
If you are a fan of books like The Hunger Games and Divergent I urge to read Jennifer L Armentrout's Lux series.
This set of books goes along the lines of paranormal romance. We follow Daemon and Katy and many other well written characters as drama ensues.
