Siblings (June)

Can't believe it's time for this months Siblings project already, nearly half way through the year, time is just getting away from us. Once again I couldn't decide on just one photo, I think the ones below together tell a story so it was only right to keep them together.

Holiday time can be hard with kids, especially when it decides to rain more often than not. So when the sun makes an appearance you better believe we make the most of it! And that's exactly what we did last week.

Half term for us was a hard one, the kids argued constantly and it was poor weather more often than not so we were all getting cabin fever. Normally I love having my children off with me and loathe sending them back to school but for some reason this time round it just wasn't the case but then the sun came out to play.

What do you do when the sun comes out? Well you go to the beach of course. So June's Siblings project photographs as you've probably guessed are a series of captures over a couple of hours. The girls had forgotten their arguments and were once again content in each others company.

Ice creams, pebble castles and purely sitting back and listening to the waves. It's amazing what a little time out in the fresh air can do for your mood. Smiles returned and the sound of bickering was replaced with the blissful sound of laughter.

It's funny because when others see my children they always comment on how well behaved they are, how they get along so well with each other. Of course I am happy that they choose to be good when out in public but when that doesn't transpire at home it can be tiresome, especially when the husband is away seven days at a time.

So looking at these pictures reminds me that those testing times are so worth it for moments like these. I like to think that they argue because they care and I hope that is something they'll remember as they get older!

  1. Great candid shots of a day at the beach. I agree that I take mine on days out as they're easier out and about and exploring than cooped up at home.

  2. I always remember being on the pebbly beach in Dover as a kid - we would wear our old school shoes to stop the pebbles from hurting our feet (goodness knows why we didn't just have jelly shoes like any other kid)
I love the way kids man up and behave in public, mine do the same - and like you I'm always glad!
