Time to Plant Some Flowers

Last year we were lucky enough to join in with the Britmums #KidsGrowWild Challenge, the girls were sent a lovely gardening set and together using the seeds provided, we had to plant some flowers in the garden. Below is a picture of them from last weekend finally beginning to bloom :

This year we managed to join in with yet another challenge from Britmums and funnily enough we decided to grow some more flowers, the difference this time, was that we planted them in cups and let them grow indoors for a few weeks.

Last weekend, in between the rain showers, we finally got around to moving our fast growing plants out into the big wide world that is our garden.

The girls got stuck in, digging out a little patch right next to their first flowers, maybe a lucky patch? Of course I was there to lend a helping hand.

Layla took on the role of supervisor, squatting down and watching everyone closely!!

It took a bit of effort to actually get the plants out of the cups, they were obviously quite happy in there. A bit of jiggling around and we popped them safely in the ground and filled the hole back in.

Elise and Freya insisted on watering the flowers, even though the rain was imminent!! They took it in turns and photographed each other doing it.

Now it is time to wait again. I couldn't tell you what flowers we are growing, I have to admit I never pay attention to what is written on the packet, but a surprise is always nice :)

What's growing in your garden right now?

  6. I rather like the idea of waiting for a surprise to grow. We are so behind in our greenhouse, but since it now has an orphan lamb in it it is probably just as well! I look forward to seeing your flowers bloom. Thank you for sharing on Country Kids
