Snow is Falling by Sarah Bennett Blog Tour

Carrying on with the festive theme on the blog this month, it's my stop on the blog tour for Sarah Bennett's latest novel Snow is Falling.

The festive season is in full swing, and Sadie throws herself into the packed Twelve Days of Christmas programme, relishing the opportunity to make new friends and new memories.

Single father Dylan Travers hasn’t been to his childhood home of Juniper Meadows for decades. Estranged from his cantankerous father Monty, he has made a happy life for himself in the States. But now with teenage children keen to know more about their roots, Dylan has brought them back to the Cotswolds to meet his family.

As Sadie and Dylan both navigate a Christmas very different from the ones they had expected it's soon clear that, geography apart, they have a great deal in common. And as Dylan confronts his past and Sadie contemplates her future, perhaps the miracle of this Christmas will be the happily-ever-after they both deserve.

I'll start by saying, I had no idea that this was part of a series of books until I reached the end of the story, so I can say with complete honesty that this novel can easily be read as a stand-alone novel. However, I will now be reading the rest of the Juniper Meadows books.

Set in the glorious surroundings of the Cotswolds, this is what I would describe as a grown up romance.

I say this for a couple of reasons. Firstly because the couple focused on are of a more mature age than many of the romantic novels I tend to read and the other reason is because it isn't solely about the physical connection, there is a great deal of attention to the emotional connections too.

Sadie is recovering from a divorce after catching her then spouse cheating on her and Dylan is a single father who, after fleeing his childhood home many years ago, is back to not only let his children get to know their family but to also finally let go of some regrets that he has carried around with him.

Instantly, it all felt very realistic which quickly endeared me to the characters.

Dylan's childhood home happens to be Juniper Meadows, the destination where Sadie is being treated by her children to a much deserved break from the chaos of real life.

What happens when Sadie and Dylan meet is quite frankly heart warming.

Filled with beautiful love.

One that focuses on not just the couple, but the family involved too. It was wonderful to see the interactions between the characters, both young and old. The enthusiasm for budding friendships and relationships.

I especially adored Sadie's determination to move on, to be brave and to really put herself out there.

Refreshing.

Natural.

The backdrop of where they were staying (I've always wanted to go to the Cotswolds), the sense of community and the festive element all added a cosy, comforting feel to the whole story.

With a satisfying ending, overall Snow is Falling is an enjoyable, easy read, one that is perfect to curl up under a blanket with.

  4. Excellent. I recently purchased a second adjustable footrest for high chair from Stop Wonders. I've heard that they can be a touch stiff at first. Is the additional work required to break it in worth the long-term performance and durability?

Sounds like a heartwarming read! I love that it focuses on emotional connections and mature characters. It reminds me of those feel-good sports movies where the underdogs, like the speed stars of a local racing team, find strength and happiness through unexpected bonds. It is nice to see that the author puts a lot of emphasis on the family relationships.
