Read With Me 2016 #41

read-with-me-badge

Hello and welcome to this weeks Read With Me, thank you to all of those who linked up last week. My own reading time has been rather lacking of late, I have to admit that my free time has actually been taking up with TV watching, everything I watch seems to have come back on all at the same time!

What I have been doing though is getting involved with my youngest learning to read. She is at the stage when she's being given a lot of picture books, allowing her to use her imagination and tell me how she thinks the story is going. Something we I've also been doing with her is when I'm reading her a story I'm sounding out some of the words, getting her used to blending the sounds together. I'm pleasantly surprised at how quickly she's picking it all up!

Now because of my lack of reading I don't really have any recommendations for you but I can tell you what I've begun to read. I'm reading the latest book from Jodi Picoult, Small Great Things. I've loved all her books and so far this is shaping up to be just as good as the rest!

My favourite post last week came from Tattooed Mummy with her latest Wordy Wednesday post, definitely worth a read.

On to the link up. Newcomers take a look at the Read With Me page. Regulars get linking (max of posts/videos), get commenting and hopefully displaying my badge.

Read With Me

Happy reading.

  2. That's great to hear your little one is making such good progress.
I'll be interested to hear what you think of the latest Jodi Picoult. I've read nearly all of hers and there were only a couple I didn't much like (especially Lone Wolf!).

  5. Ooh try some wordless ones with her, I was amazed how much fun we have had with them. Little imaginations are the best!

  7. We have spent hours last week with our 5yo - she is doing so well learning to read (not meaning to sound like a smug mum) but OMG the homework takes forever! Really detracts from my reading time. Not read a JP for years - maybe time to try her again.
