Clever Tykes Book Review and Giveaway

I was recently asked if my daughters and I would like to review a set of books called Clever Tykes. Now being honest I hadn't heard of them before so I was surprised to find out that these books have actually been used as reading/learning material in 50 primary schools across the UK.

There are three books in the set : Walk-It Willow, Change-It Cho and Code-It Cody

The aim of each books is to inspire young children to think about their passions, what they want to do in life and how they can go about reaching those goals.

Each book is aimed at the key stage 2 age range and both my 7 and almost 10 year old have been enjoying reading them.

What I like about each book is that even though there are things to be learnt, the messages are subtle, the stories show children how good it is to gain independence, the importance of working hard and that believing in yourself and your own abilities goes a long way!

Here is what my eldest daughter had to say about the books :

The Clever Tykes books were excellent!

My favourite feature was that each book had a a lesson to be learnt. The book I liked the most was Change-It Cho, it teaches children to eat healthily and not to give up on your dreams.

The other books were also a delight to read.

These stories are great for children aged 6-10, I think my sister's will enjoy reading them soon.

Final verdict, the Clever Tykes books are amazing!

My 7 year old wanted to say a bit too :

I read Walk-It Willow. It taught me about getting organised and that asking for help isn't a bad thing. It was very good and I'm looking forward to reading the others.

These books certainly struck a chord with my girls. I think the mix of simple text and illustrations alongside the writing works well. It gets the children interested and has them thinking and asking questions about topics they might not have necessarily thought about before.

I can see why they've been used in schools and it would be nice to see them used in my schools around the UK.

Now if you like the sound of these books I have 2 sets to giveaway. All you need to do is fill in the rafflecopter form below. The giveaway is open to UK residents only and will close at 11.59pm on the 3rd December 2015.
