Changing bags, every parent needs one but with so many on the market these days it's hard to decide on one suitable. I had the pleasure last year of reviewing the Pink Lining Yummy Mummy bag and I had nothing but good words to say about it, so when I was given the oppurtunity to review their Wanderlust bag recently I was expecting good things, I just didn't know how good….

Mia Tui Ella Bag Review

I am a firm believer that a woman can never have too many pushchairs, slings, shoes and of course bags. You must know that accessorising is a must and of course we must be able to mix and match. So when Mia Tui asked me to review one of the bags from their range, I jumped at the chance. Based on my lifestyle and what I use my changing bag for, Mia Tui decided that the Ella would be the best match for me.

I was impressed by the Ella bag, even before I had a chance to use it. The colour was beautiful and I am happy to say it complimented my pushchair well ;) The attention to detail is clear, with neat white stitching, buckles to the sides and my favourite part, the star attached to the zip, I am a sucker for stars!! The bag oozes quality.

Nursery Trader Best Baby and Toddler Gear Awards - The Winners

I was extremely lucky recently because I was picked to take part in the testing/reviewing of some of the products for the Nursery Trader Baby and Toddler Gear Awards, their sister company Pushchair Trader was also involved, picking the best of the best pushchairs.!!

Over 100 reviewers were involved and it has taken 3 long months checking each and every detail but decisions have finally been made and the medals have been issued.

For each category gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded and you can also see the entrants that were shortlisted.

The category I was reviewing was Changing Bag Under £100. As a huge lover of bags this was the perfect category for me.

There were 7 bags in this category to be considered, the brands included : Lassig, Pink Lining, Mabyland, Bababing andHamilton Turnberry. Three of these came out on top and I was really pleased to see that my favourite received the gold award :

Pink Lining Yummy Mummy Bag Review

I have always loved bags and when I became a mummy my love of handbags extended to a love of changing bags because of course, what parent could live without a changing bag?? I mean we have to take out everything bar the kitchen sink don't we.

I have always lusted after the lovely Pink Lining changing bags so when I was asked to review one from their ever growing range, I jumped at the opportunity.

I didn't actually know which bag I would be reviewing so when a Pink Lining package arrived I was like a kid at Christmas.

So what was in the box…..

It was their most popular changing bag, the Yummy Mummy bag in the new Bumble Bees and Stardust print.

I have to say it is more gorgeous in real life than it is in the photos on the internet!! With an exterior made out of 100% cotton with an EVA coating, it is both stylish and remains practical because it is easy to wipe clean.

I love the print, with bees, stars and flowers in multiple colours dotted all over, it is fun and unique, I am a huge fan of stars so the design really appealed to me. The iconic cupcake and yummy mummy writing are placed front and centre on the external front pocket which simply poppers shut.

There are also two more pockets situated externally on either side of the bag, making them easily accessible. These pockets are made out of canvas and each have a PU bow placed in them, Pink Lining really do have an eye for the smallest of details. 

The canvas handles are nice and soft and can be made into one with the leather strap in the centre of them.

There are two zips which open and closing the bag easy to do. Inside there are lots of goodies to be found : a changing mat, a wet bag and a detachable mirror.

I love that the accessories for the changing bag have the same cupcake on them as on the outside of the bag. The changing mat is nice and padded and again easily wiped clean. The detachable mirror has come in handy when needing to distract Layla as I have been changing her nappy. The wet bag as been great for holding dirt nappies/ wet clothes and means the rest of the bag remains clean and dry!!

The bag itself is quite deceiving. From the outside it doesn't look like there would be much space inside, you would be wrong to think this.  Lined with the signature bright pink lining, there are 2 insulated pockets, perfect for keeping bottles or pots of food warm. There are 2 large elasticated pockets, ideal for keeping nappies and wipes in, pocket for your phone, a key fob, no need to rummage around for hours trying to find those door keys. They have even put a pen holder in there, someone always needs a pen.

The lining inside is water resistant so no need to panic if a bottle or cup happens to leak. You can see from the picture above that because of all the added pockets, there is plenty of space left in the centre for all those other essentials that you will no doubt need to take out with you.

If that wasn't enough for you, Pink Lining even provide you with a detachable  canvas shoulder strap which matches the handles alreadt attached. This is perfect if you prefer to carry your bag across your body rather than on your arm but it also makes it possible for you to hang the bag on your pushchair too. It is simple to make longer and shorter and it has quite a range making it ideal for anyone however tall you are.

Overall I absolutely love this bag, it surpassed my expectations!! Priced at £79.00 it is great to look at as well as doing a great job of holding all those much needed baby/mummy essentials. And with 11 designs currently on their site to choose from, there is definitely one for everybody. I wouldn't hesistate in recomending this to friends and family.

Jeremy Scott Cybex Changing Bag Review

Cybex is a company that develops safe and innovative children's products for parents. Producing products like strollers, carriers and car seats, Cybex products are loads of fun whilst being practical too.

Recently Cybex worked with Jeremy Scott. He is an American designer who has come up with the Food Fight range. Colourful and loud, this design is now place on changing bags, car seats, pushchairs and baby carriers.

I was sent the baby changing bag to have a look at. So I snapped a few photos so that you could take a closer look as well.

The bag itself is wonderfully bright, with fun food character images all around, it is very striking. It has a lovely wide strap which is easily adjusted and can be made quite long, this makes it super comfy to wear either over the arm or across the body for anybody.

The inside of the bag is extremely spacious, with large pockets both inside and out, you can easily find room for all yours and your little ones essential items. It comes complete with a bottle holder attached and a wet compartment which is ideal for any ruined clothes or if you are a cloth nappy user like myself, this is a great place to store the used nappies whilst out of the house.

It even comes with a matching changing bag. Both the changing mat and the bag itself are made from wipe clean material, making them simple to clean should there be the need.

I personally love this bag. The print makes it different to most bags out there and I don't mind standing out from the crowd. The bag itself is deceiving, it hides how big it really is from the outside but I guarantee you, you will be able to fit everything in there bar the kitchen sink!! Definitely worth checking out.

Family day out with my Lin & Leo BabyBag

If you haven't heard the news, I was one of five bloggers that was chosen by Lin & Leo to review their gorgeous BabyBag.

To review the BabyBag, Lin & Leo are setting us four challenges to showcase just how good their bag really is. Challenge one was set last Friday, the challenge was to take the BabyBag on a family day out, challenge accepted!!!!

Unfortunately I had to wait a few days to actually take part in the challenge because typical British weather (you know rain, rain and more rain) meant that we were trapped indoors.

However Tuesday brought much needed sunshine and it was also my eldest twos Sports Day, this meant an afternoon out watching and joining in with races, this also meant I needed to pack up the BabyBag.

As you can see from the photo on the left, I had to take a fair amount with me :

* drinks for all the children
* snacks
* picnic blanket
* nappy wallet filled with nappies, wipes and nappy sacks
* changing mat
* change of clothes for Layla
* hats for all four children
* toys for Layla
* suncream
* phone
* purse
* keys

The bag looks quite small but looks can be deceiving. The photo on the right shows just how I managed to get all the items mentioned above to fit into the bag with ease.

I think the many pockets on the BabyBag really helped because it meant that I could fit plenty on the outside as well as in the inside of it. The bottles of drink, the sun cream, the snacks and my phone and keys were placed in the outside pockets, the only zip I couldn't close was the back one because the drinks bottles were taller than the pocket itself.

I have to admit the bag was quite weighty once I had filled it but the soft leather strap made it comfortable to carry, it didn't dig into my shoulders at all.

I admit after a little while I decided to hang the BabyBag on the pushchair rather than carry it.

Thankfully the long strap allowed me to do this.

The strap was long enough to hang over with ease and it didn't get in the way when I needed to recline the pushchair as Layla fell asleep, all that sitting tired her out!! ;)

I forgot to get another photo but I also managed to squeeze the full to the brim bag in the basket, although I did need a tiny bit of help to get the bag back out after.

And let's not forget this was a family day out, I managed to get a photo of my 5 year old Freya mid run. This was her first sports day and she made me a proud mummy when she came third in her individual race, as did her older sister Elise. 

So the Lin & Leo BabyBag has been introduced to the family and enjoyed it's first family day out, I think we completed that challenge, I'm excited to hear what challenge two will be.

Ruby and Ginger The Original Nappy Purse Review

Ruby and Ginger is a company run by Liz Rhodes and Brenda Farnhill. They originally set up the company in 2009 after becoming first time mums and it was named after their first children.

This lovely twosome appeared on Dragons Den in early 2012 and have since gone from strength to strength. Their products are available in 100 retail outlets and online across the UK and Europe.

I was sent their Original Nappy Purse & change mat to test. There are three colours you can choose from, Berries, Funky Flower and Wallpaper. I was asked which one I would like and I chose Berries.

True to their word, this a stylish yet innovative product which fits nicely into the modern parents lifestyle. Measuring at a small 27cm x 19cm x 3.5cm, it comes complete with a change mat and a free refillable wipes case.

Made out of 100% cotton, the material is both water and dirt resistant, as well as washable at 30 degrees, making it both appealing to the eye and practical. The change mat also made of the same material is backed in a soft towelling, perfect for your little ones skin.

Being a user of both cloth nappies and disposable nappies, I had the chance to see how practical the nappy purse was for both.

As you can see from the top picture, when using cloth nappies, I was able to fit in one birth to potty nappy, two washable wipes, a spray bottle of water and the changing mat, so probably only suitable to use for quick trips out rather than a full day if you wanted to take the purse ot by itself. However if you are placing the purse in a changing bag you can always pop another couple of nappies in the changing bag.

The bottom picture shows that when using disposable nappies I managed to fit in 3 nappies, the refillable wipes case and the changing mat, a lot more than with the cloth nappies. What I love is that unlike a changing bag, this nappy purse doesn't become heavy.

The nappy purse has a handle on one side so that you can take it out by itself, there is even a pocket inside to put your keys of phone. It can be placed under a pushchair, or because of the handle if, you can have it on the handle of your pushchair, it can go in a changing bag as shown here in my Miracle Box changing bag review or even in your handbag, as shown by the picture below.

And if that wasn't enough, you can even use it as a clutch bag for going out if you wanted to, so even when you no longer need to use nappies, it won't be left to get dusty in a cupboard somewhere!!!!

Priced at £20.00, I think it is great value for money. Although not as ideal for a cloth nappy user, I would still recommend it to all mums because it can not only be used for baby things, it is a treat for mummy too. If I am honest I am tempted to buy the other two designs because as I have said before, a girl can never have too many bags.

The Miracle Box Changing Bag Review

Never can a woman have too many bags. My husband often asked why I have so many, why do I need  them all, clearly he knows nothing about accessorising!!

And it is this reason that I got extremely excited when The Miracle Box sent me one of their new Chic range changing bags to try out.

The Miracle Box launched their first product in October 2007 at the Earls court baby show and since then have gone from strength to strength. Making birth balls, hiring out birthing pools, pre packed hospital bags and of course their stylish range of changing bags.

I received one of their new Chic changing bags in black spot but it will soon be available in red, stone and navy spot too. I think this kind of design is timeless so you don't have to worry about it going out of fashion any time soon.

As you can see from the picture above, it comes in lovely packaging and once opened up includes a change mat, buggy clips and a wet bag, as well as a built in chain in one of the pockets to hang your keys on. I couldn't believe how many pockets there were, it is definitely big enough to take everything except maybe the kitchen sink.

It is made out of 100% cotton but because it is laminated, you can easily wipe it clean and it has chrome studded feet at the bottom which I think makes it more durable, I always find the corners of my bags wearing away from being left on the floor so the feet should prevent this from happening.

I love how extendable the strap is because not only did it fit over my pushchair handles and over my shoulder, I could also wear it across my body which is extremely handy when I carry my youngest in a wrap. The only thing that could have made the strap better was some sort of padding round it as it tended to dig in a little when having it on for longer periods.

Clearly I needed to test just how spacious the bag was and you will be pleased to know you can fit a lot in there. I packed the bag up when my kids were staying at nannie's house over night, so I shall list just what I put inside :

1x sleepsuit

1 x vest

1 x change of clothes

3 x bibs

2 x spoons

2 x cups

1 x change mat

1 x wet bag

1x ruby and ginger original nappy purse filled with wipes and nappies

1 x sleeping bag

1 x comforter

And as you can see from the picture below, there was still plenty more room for more items, so I can see this being a great bag to take on holiday.

Retailing at £45, I can highly recommend this changing bag to all of you, not only is it spacious and practical, it is stylish as well, a great mummy/baby accessory in my opinion.
