Waterproof iPad Cover Review

Being a mum, for me generally means that I don't get a lot of free time. Two of my favourite things to do when I do manage to get a bit of 'me time' are reading books and taking a nice long hot bath. However I tend to read my books on the iPad these days and I don't trust putting this anywhere near my bath water, I would feel like I'd lost a limb if it were to fall in.

The lovely people at John Lewis kindly sent me a waterproof cover for my iPad to review, would this mean I would be able to do my two favourite things at the same time?

The cover is made by Go Travel and has a RRP of £14.99, designed to protect your iPad from from any damage in up to depths of 1 metre of water although I wasn't brave enough to test it to these depths.

The product itself is easy to use. Simply place your iPad inside and do up the three separate seals, making sure that you here each one click and that there are no bumps along the seals. You then tightly roll over the top and velcro closed.

The clear cover allows you to carry on using your iPad without any disruption and because it is sealed so well, it doesn't steam up at all. You are able to use the touch screen with ease still, allowing you to email, read, play games etc. And with an intergrated earphone jack you are also free to listen to music and watch films.

As you can see from the picture below, the iPad fits into the shell perfectly, no struggling to get it in and out before and after use.

I think this waterproof cover would certainly come in handy for when you are lounging around the pool on holiday, no need to worry about people splashing water around you. 

Overall it is a clever piece of kit that my well come in handy for some of you!!

BundleBean Go! Review

BundleBean is something that was created by the lovely Emily Goodall, who as a mum to two children herself got overwhelmed by the amount of things that were needed when taking her little ones out, things such as changing mats, blankets and waterproofs. I'm sure many of you parents have had the same problems.

The BundleBean Go! is a product that takes all of the fuss out of those daily outings with your family.
It not only provides a brilliant alternative to footmuffs, cosytoes and blankets on the pushchair but it can also be used on car seats, baby carriers and it can even be used as a playmat/ picnic blanket.

I was sent the BundleBean Go! a couple of weeks ago to test out and review, I chose it in pink spot, however it is also available in blue spot, red star and plain black, great for boys and girls alike!!

This clever product is made out of a waterproof nylon on one side, keeping your little ones nice and dry, I love this because a lot of footmuffs etc are great for keeping your child warm but aren't so great if it was to start raining and you were without a raincover. The waterproof material on the BundleBean means you don't have to worry if you get caught short as such. On the other side it is backed with a gorgeous fleece material which means your children stay snug as a bug in a rug!!

At the bottom of the BundleBean, there are two zips, one either side which are adjustable, these are what tighten the bottom to create an elasticated pouch that you can fit around your pushchair, car seat or even a bike seat.

Now I wouldn't be giving an honest review if I didn't test the BundleBean out and see if it really was as versatile as promised. The only method I couldn't try was on a bike seat because I have to admit I do not own a bike, not a lover of cycling I'm afraid.

First I tried it on my Graco Evo Mini which is a front facing pushchair, simply doing up the velcro straps around the frame and securing the elasticated bottom around the foot rest. As you can see there is a handy pcoket on the front that your children can pop their little hands in, no need to fight to get them to keep gloves on their hands!!

Then I tried it on my Quinny Xtra in parent facing mode and as you can see from the second picture, I secured it by doing up the velcro straps around the back of the seat unit.

Layla got all excited the next time she was put in her car seat. She was most definitely one snug baby. Again I fastened the velcro round the back of the seat and then rolled the top of the BundleBean down so that she could have her arms out. There are velcro tabs at the bottom of the cover so that you can fit the bottom of it nice and securely.

Being a massive babywearing fan, I then tried it on whilst I had Layla wrapped up in a sling. This I think is when I found it most useful as it can stop not only your little but your carrier from getting wet as well. Simply attached by doing up the velcro around my neck and because the top of the BundleBean can be folded up or down, it meant Layla could have her arms out but I could also cover her up if needed. 

And lastly the BundleBean got used as a blanket/playmat. Unfortunately with the lovely British weather we haven't managed to take it out on a picnic trip yet, however it is most definitely going to be taken out in the great out doors. The fleece material makes it nice and comfy for your children's bottoms and when laid out flat it is fairly spacious, as you can see from the picture above, Layla was quite happy playing away on it. 

And if all this hasn't persuaded you, look at how compactly it folds down when not in use.

The BundleBean Go! really is very versatile. Suitable for newborns and upwards and priced at at only 29.99, I really think every mum should have one. It is one of those things that I wish I had found sooner. Makes for a lighter changing bag and less things for my baby brain to remember.
