Revealing the Makie Doll Review

About 3 weeks ago I told you a bit about Makie dolls and showed you a little of the process of creating our very own Makie doll.

Yesterday I had three very excited girls when their Makie doll finally arrived. The question was, would it look like what they had originally produced on the computer screen??

I'm sure you are thinking what could be so exciting about a doll, let me explain a little. When you create your doll you get to choose everything from their eyes and nose to the width of their smile and the clothes they wear.

Each Makie doll is made using a process called 3D printing. The way the makie lab people tell you to imagine it is that instead of using the traditional ink on paper, the printer uses powdered plastic that gets melted into shape.

So I'm sure by now you are excited for the big reveal too, so without further ado I introduce to you Destiny :

Fully poseable, she can be placed in many positions, making her look like she is dancing, maybe exercising or just sitting and relaxing. The detail really is amazing, from the colour of the eyes to the little holes in her ears because the girls wanted her to have pierced ears.

The limbs can be removed and they are quite easy to pull off and push back on and this makes it simpler for you to dress/undress your dolls.

I have to say the Makie doll feels quite strange, not the normal plastic that you have on other dolls, almost as though it has been coated in another material, I'm not sure how to describe it, just an added texture to it.

She is extremely lightweight for the size of her and I was surprised that she doesn't seem fragile, even when moving her limbs around, I don't feel like I am going to break her at all.

A really lovely added touch is that your Makie doll comes complete with their own certificate, stating their name, who they were made by and just where they were produced.

I am now going to leave you with a video of my daughter's opening up their package and taking a look at some of the accessories that they would like Destiny to own.
