Aldi Mamia Nappies Review

As a mum to four children, I have used my fair share of nappies, a mixture of disposable and reusable. I tried using cloth nappies with Layla but unfortunately she has very sensitive skin and reacted to all washing powders that I tried, so we changed back to disposable. When I had my first two daughters I only used well known brand nappies such as huggies and pampers. I soon came to realise when I had my third daughter, that supermarket brands were just as good and cost a fraction of the price. Aldi recently sent me a pack of their Mamia nappies to try, having won multiple awards, I was expecting good things.

Aldi Mamia Nappies

I received a packet of size 4 Mamia nappies, this size typically suits babies with a weight range between 15-40lbs.

The nappies themselves are super soft to touch, both inside and out and have a contoured design. I love the animal pictures all over them, a nice fun touch.

Layla is one to wiggle around when having her bum changed but I found the re-sealable fastner tapes were quick and easy to release and do up and because they have a bit of stretch to them, I could do them up as tight as I needed to without ripping the nappy at all.

Of course the main test is just how well they hold those wees. On the packet it says that the nappies have an anti-leakage system that can last for up to 12 hours. Layla actually sleeps 12-13 hours at night and I am happy to report that the nappy did exactly as it said it would, no leaks and what I really liked, was that it didn't become really bulky from the amount of wee it was holding, this I hope meant that Layla stayed comfortable whilst wearing it.

An added bonus is that Mamia nappies are hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested, a real positive for me as Layla suffers with a mixture of eczema and psoriasis.

Priced between £2.99 and £4.49 per packet, these are great value for money and I would recommend everyone who uses disposable nappies to try out Aldi's Mamia nappies.

    1. It is nice to know that the saying "get what you pay for", doesn't always apply to everything x
