I Love You Near and Far Book Review

One of the books the girls and I recently got sent for review was I Love You Near and Far which is written by Majorie Blain Parker and illustrated by Jed Henry.

I know that we live far away, far apart.

But I can still love you with all of my heart.

So, wherever you live - if it's near or it's far…

I will love you wherever, wherever you are.

This book focusses on something wonderful, love. Flowing beautifully with rhyming words, the story shows children just how brilliant love is and how far this magical feeling can stretch.

With adorable illustrations to accompany the words, the meaning of it all really jumps from the pages.

I love how throughout the book certain words are highlighted in vibrant colours. Words like love, nonstop, wherever.

Here's what my daughter Freya thought about it :

I loved it because if someone is near or far away they still love each other. Even if the little cat wanted his Dad he still loved him, even if he is far away as a soldier. I was really happy when everyone who lived far away from him came back for his birthday.

Overall this is a lovely meaningful book.

It really reinforces just how important love is. This book would be really helpful to a child who has parents who have to work away or family who live in different countries.

A sweet tale that lets us know that we are loved/cared for always.

  1. This would be a beautiful present for a child from a military family who often has to say goodbye to a parent. I love the cover :)
