Disney Pictopia Review and Giveaway

Board games, I have to admit I love them. They are something that I really enjoyed playing with my family as a child, even though I was a bit of a sore loser at times *coughs*. So now I'm trying to get my kids feeling the same because I'd like for them not to spend all of their time on computers, watching tv etc. I tend to buy a new game each Christmas for us all to play in an attempt to keep things interesting. Well this year we've already received our new game. We were kindly sent Disney Pictopia to review.

The ultimate Picture-Trivia family game!

This game really is designed to appeal to families as a whole and even though it says from age 7+, both my younger two children aged 5 and 3 had great fun joining in even if they didn't quite grasp all of the rules.

The idea of the game is quite simple, be the first to get your marker to the Disney Castle and the way to do this is to answer the questions correctly but of course it wouldn't be quite as fun without a few twists thrown in.

Filled with the magic of Disney!

In the box you receive a set of instructions, a dice, a mover, wager coins, answer dials and question/answer cards.

What I really like about this game is it flips the rules over as such. Instead of the person whose turn it is answering the question, they have to ask the question instead. This gives everyone a fair try at moving forward on the board, which I also found reduced the amount of bickering too.

All the other players have to place one of their wager coins at the end of the board. This will determine how many spaces they can move forward if they are to answer the question correctly.

An added element to the questions is that there are different types of questions to answer depending on what spot you land on, these could be ones that you work on together or ones that you answer by yourself. And my personal favourite, the SPOTLIGHT question where you have to guess another players answer.

Playing time wasn't too long and made a welcome change to never ending games and actually meant that the girls wanted to play again rather than putting it away.

Elise was the most impressed (only because she won), we as a family highly recommend Disney Pictopia, family fun at its best with all the Disney magic that we know and love mixed in.

Now if you like the sound of Disney Pictopia go ahead and enter the giveaway below to try and win one of your very own. Open to UK residents this giveaway will close at 11.59pm on the of 10th November 2015. All entries will be checked and verified so make sure to enter correctly.

  34. We love playing Scrabble - classic game that has stood the test of time, and it's always fun to play as you grow up because you go from being the most likely to lose to gaining the upper hand over your parents as you learn more! Our little ones are on Junior Scrabble now, just getting to grips with it, but at that age it's just fun to play a game of spelling out words so it's all in good fun!
