Inclusive Book Round Up from Little Tiger

As little ones navigate their way through life, they are always learning something new and a big thing that comes with growing up is all of the new people that they will meet and as their parent, it isn't always easy to explain emotions and the behaviours that can come with building these new relationships but Little Tiger are here to help.

In my latest book round up from Little Tiger, there is a great selection of paperbacks which are highly accessible for young children and guaranteed to help them be more mindful and better equipped to deal with all the things that life brings.

Happy

We breathe deep and expand like the galaxy. We breathe out many thousands of stars. And if ever we start to feel panicky. This reminds us just who we are.

In a world filled with drama and confusion at every turn, Happy is a book that will help children to really relax whilst being able to explore their own feelings. I think it will be especially effective on days where something perhaps has happened at school and they can't comprehend how to deal with it.

Happy will make little ones begin to appreciate the little things in life, focussing on the positive rather than the negative.

With rhyming text and beautiful illustrations, this book is wonderfully calming.

As We Grow

The building blocks are how we grow deep within ...

Utterly charming, As We Grow is a brilliant depiction of each and every stage of life that we will enter as we change and grow throughout the years.

A handy tool for both parents and educators, a real support to the concept of growing up.

It's beautifully presented. Gentle in it's teachings, it will allow little ones to really think and explore the emotions that come with change and can have different meaning and bring out differing emotions each and every time you read it.

Mind Your Manners

It's okay to enjoy roaring loudly. We all deserve time to play. But all lions should practice those soft growls. For the quieter times of the day.

Set in the jungle, Mind Your Manners uses animals and humour to cleverly demonstrate various behaviours and just how to manage the feelings that come with certain social situations.

I always say to my children that manners cost you nothing and this is shown well in this picture book.

With adorable illustrations that look like they could have been drawn straight on the pages of the book, it is a book that remains positive and funny whilst teaching something rather important.

Everybody's Welcome

Everybody's welcome, no matter who they are, wherever they may come from, whether near of far.

Wouldn't it be great if you could build a home that opened its doors to everyone - tall or short, fat or thin, rich or poor . . . well, perhaps if everybody pitches in to help, one little mouse can achieve that dream.

First published in 2017, this book is back in board book form. With the crisis that is brexit and the unease that our generation faces, this is a great example to little ones that everybody should be welcome regardless of appearance, its about who is in need.

All the rhyming words and warming illustrations lead to inspiring discussions with younger children about the world in which they live.

We Are Together

On our own, we're special, and we can chase our dream, but when we join up, hand in hand, together, we're a team.

A friend of mine has the saying, teamwork to make the dream work and this book is the best example of that.

A lovely diverse cast of characters showcases why things are always better together. This is a story that aims to promote a wider community to children, to have them thinking about people on a global scale rather than just those nearest to them.

Each page has increasing 'peak through' slots that lets kids see other children in varying environments and weathers, each one helping to bring a sort of balance, really illustrating just how beautiful our world can be.

I adore Little Tiger books and these particular ones are ideal for the world in which we live in right now. Helping to educate our youngest generation to do more for each other and make each day that little bit brighter.

  1. These look like lovely books. It's great that books can help children to learn about themselves and the world around them without them even realising that they are being helped!

  2. What a lovely set of books. We used to do quite a few Little Tiger reviews when my boys were younger and I always found them to be good books
