I visit Canterbury in Kent on a regular basis but for some reason I had never noticed The Beaney museum before. For those like me who weren't aware of this place, it is an art museum and library that showcases some brilliant exhibitions and holds a brand new library as well as learning facilities and interactive events for all ages.
My girls and I were recently invited to the opening of the brand new Enid Blyton exhibition. Mystery, Magic and Midnight Feast, The Many Adventures of Enid Blyton is running from the 31st January to the 19th April 2015.
My eldest daughter was extremely excited as she is a huge fan of her work, especially the Malory Towers collection.
I personally remember not only reading her books but watching the TV series based on the stories on the television too.
This trip was exciting straight away because daddy was working so we got to take a journey on the train.

It's The Simple Things In Life
For many of us it has been half term this week, another time for parents to think of things to keep the kids occupied without it breaking the bank.
We've kept it simple this week :
* Dvd day snuggled under blankets - Cost = Nothing
* Baking day - Cost = Nothing (we already had ingredients in the cupboards)
* Trip to the library - Cost = Nothing
* Halloween treasure hunt - Cost = £3.00 for sweets
and finally
* Trip to park

Balancing
Climbing
Sliding
Spinning
Total cost of a week off £3. Fun needn't be expensive. What have you all been up to this week??

Half Term Viewing
It is that time again, kids are all off school for half term week. With the weather taking a turn for the worst, I've been having trouble trying to find things to keep the kids occupied and out of trouble.
I thought the best way to come up with ideas was to ask the girls what they would like to do.
The answers I got started to formed quite a list :
* Go to the park.
* Bake cakes.
* Go to the library
* Have a sleep over at nannie's house.
* Go to the cinema.
* Go swimming
* Go somewhere for dinner.
Well yesterday we got off to a bad start because I woke up with a sickness bug, so we didn't manage to tick anything off the list, it ended up being a lazy day snuggled up under blankets watching TV.
Today we have been to the library for the morning and we will be baking with Nannie this afternoon and we could possibly persuade Nannie to let have a sleepover later. However I'm already thinking ahead though, trying to organise the rest of our week in advance.
We all love films so a trip to the o2 cinema could be in order seen as Daddy Hazelden is working near there at the moment, it would be a great excuse to see him too.
The question is what to watch? I really like the look of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2, the older two are voting for Turbo and my 3 year old wants to watch Smurfs 2, again!!!
What are all of you up to during half term week? Do you have any more suggestions which we can add to our list of things to do??

The other end of town
Another week, another Maxi-Cosi challenge has been issued. So far you have seen me excitedly unpacking the pushchair and discovering hidden treasures in my town with the Loola as company.
This week, we have been challenged to take a trip from one end of our town to the other, seeing just how well the Loola copes with an obstacles on the way.
Now I am very lucky that where I live is only a 15-20 minute walk into town, depending on how many children I have with me at the time, Gracie with her little legs is slightly slower than the rest of us, bless her.
The kids were quite excited about what mummy had to do because the one thing at the other end of town is the library and seen as all of my children are little book worms, I couldn't think of a better place to take them.
However for this task, I found myself at a disadvantage because there isn't anything really exciting to look at along the way and of course I want you to be interested in my post, so what better way than to keep you looking than pictures with a funky background :)

The collage above shows our little journey, even Daddy Hazelden came along for the adventure. The Loola handles very well over normal paths, a very smooth ride for little miss Layla. Along the way we got to see the sights of our town including the police station where, as my kids will tell you, Uncle Alec made a visit too when he had a little too much to drink, he will never be allowed to forget this!! LOL.
One part of our journey that demonstrated the comfort of the Loola, was when we had to push it over a cobbled surface. You can see from the video below, that although shaky, Layla was not phased at all and infact thought it was fun to hear her own voice wobble as we went about our little ride.
To get up to the library, I had to push the pushchair up a steep ramp and around a couple of tight bends, this was easily achieved because of how light the Loola feels when pushing it and the swivel wheels at the front allowed it to glide round the corners effortlessly.
Inside the library itself , there were three different surfaces to test out, carpet, tile and what I would describe as marble. The wheels never lost traction, no slip sliding around.
And of course at the end of it all, the kids ended up with a nice pile of books to keep them entertained for a little while atleast.
Another task complete and best of all, we managed to have another morning out as a family which didn't cost a single penny!!!
