Starting The Day With a Good Cuppa

Everyone knows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and what's the best thing to accompany breakfast? A good cuppa of course.

I love to start my day with a green tea, so when Twinings offered me the chance to review some of their latest range, I had to admit I got a little excited as I am all for trying new flavours.

Twinings actually conducted some research recently to help with their new advert which you can watch here. Their findings showed that showed that little changes can make a huge difference in our daily lives because our every day routine can become boring.

To highlight this idea, Twinings transformed their Strand store, decorating it in thousands of teabags, see the picture below :

Now I can't make a change as extreme as that but surely a change in tea flavour is a good start?

I was sent the following flavours :

* Moroccan mint with rose green tea
* Simply sencha green tea
* Popcorn green tea
* Loose leaf apple and elderflower green tea (also available in teabags)
* Bollywood chai latte
* Nutty chocolate assam

Of course the best part of a review like this is the taste testing.

Simple to make, boil the kettle and then pour the water over the teabag, leaving for 1-2 minutes for the flavours to infuse and then drink (well you might need to blow on it first). The triangular teabags allow the contents to move around and the string attached makes it easy to take the teabag out once you've got the strength of tea just right for you.

Now if I'm honest I wasn't a huge fan of the moroccan mint and rose as I found the rose flavouring slightly overpowering.

The loose leaf tea was interesting. If I had the option I would stick with the teabag version purely for convinience but I found I got a stronger flavour from the loose leaf compared to the teabag.

My favourite had to be the bollywood chai latte, lovely spicy aroma and taste, this one is a real Winter warmer.

Twinings is definitely my favourite brand of tea, I would also recommend their cherry bakewell and salted caramel green tea flavours, they smell and taste amazing!!!

Only question left to ask, what makes your perfect cuppa?

Disclaimer : I was sent the teabags FOC for reviewing purposes however all thoughts and opinions are my own.

  1. I'm not a big tea drinker but I do like the sound of these flavours especially the Popcorn one x
