Tallulah Book Reviews

Clare Grogan is a successful singer and actress but recently she has ventured into the world of book writing. Her debut book, Tallulah and The Teen Stars, follows the adventures of Tallulah Gosh…..

Tallulah Gosh is really Teresa Gordon - an ordinary girl living on an ordinary street. Teresa feels almost invisible to the wrold, except when she's in her bedroom pretending to be the world famous singer of 'Tallulah and the Teenstars'.

One day her grumpy big sister Patti challenges Teresa to start a real band and to enter the school talent contest that is just a few weeks away.

What will she do? Can she really do this? And if she dies will everyone just laugh at her?

This is going to be the biggest challenge of Teresa's life but she's determined to prove that she's no ordinary girl!

This debut book reached No2 in the Waterstone Children's book chart and now this loveable paperback and the second installment of the series have been released digitally via Amazon. And luckily for my girls, they were sent copies of both books to read and review. Both my 9 and 7 year olds wanted to share their thoughts so they opted to review one book each :

I thought the book was cool. The band name was something I loved, it the name was Betty and the Bee Stings. I didn't think the story would be anything like I read, I thought it was an awesome book. I was laughing when it said Ava smart ass. When Milo squeezed Tallulah's hand I was happy it was a really cute moment. There were two people who bullied Tallulah and one of her best friends their names were Mia and Ava, this was a sad part. I really liked the story, thank you for sending it to us.

Tallulah on tour was fabulous! It really captured the characters feelings well. It was action packed, dramatic and suspensive, a great read.

Tallulah on tour is the sequel to Tallulah and the teenstars, a great book also. Throughout this book, Teresa and her friends go on tour with their favourite band, Betty and the beestings. Many adventures occur such as injuries, misunderstandings and romance.

This book is perfect for girls who want to be stars. My favourite part was at the end when Milo and Teresa were holding hands. So romantic! Also, I  don't blame Teresa for being nervous, I would be too! Why I liked the whole story was because of the amazing description, I kind of felt what was happening. My final verdict, an AWESOME book!

Clare actually started writing these books as a sort of therapy, a way of keeping memories alive of her mum who she sadly lost before she had her own daughter.

A brilliant message shines through, it isn't a matter of being famous, more a thing of following your dreams, something I want for my children too.

This is a lovely series of books filled with not only brilliant stories but wonderful illustrations too and I look forward to my youngest two girls being able to read them too.

  2. I had no idea Clare Grogan had added "author" to her list of talents! Nice to see there's life after Altered Images, and she seems to be doing pretty well with it too! #ReadWithMe
