The Little Guide To Science Book Review

the little guide to science book

I am very lucky that my children have always been keen learners and they are eager to extend what they know further so any books to do with education automatically appeal to them. The Little Guide To Science is  no exception. It is essentially an interactive book which begins to explain certain scientific wonders to kids in a way that will not only appeal to those already budding science lovers but will also help encourage those who may not be so interested in the subject to begin with.

From the theory behind the Big Bang to discussing evolution and how life on Earth has changed over the years, there is a wealth of knowledge to be found within the pages. What keeps it entertaining is the mix of information, illustrations and small tasks that they can get involved in. The way it is put together makes it suitable for quite a wide age range.

Younger children like my 5 year old will be captivated with the fun yet simple images and this will start them on their own journey of learning. Where as older kids like my 10 year old become fascinated with the facts presented to them.

Most won't realise just how many topics there are within the subject of science, even for myself as a parent I felt I was learning things along with my children. Whether space is your thing or maybe using microscopes is something you're interested in, there is certainly lots to be found within this handy little book.

Priced at £6.99, The Little Guide To Science which is published by Happy Museum is a brilliant first step into the world of science and all it contains. It opens up a whole different universe to children, gets them asking questions they may not have necessarily thought of and produces many possibilities for further learning. Great for independent learners and just as good for kids who prefer to do things with friends or in a group.

  1. That does look like a good book for my daughter, who is also coming up for 10. I know she would reject it immediately on the grounds that it's about science. As you say, there's so many different subjects within science that there will be something to interest everyone.
