Dinner Time Treats at Frankie & Benny's

As a family we love eating out but being a family of six it can be quite an expense, especially when the children decide they want desserts as well as a main meal. Although I can't blame them because well I can't resist a good pudding either. So when you find somewhere that not only delivers delicious food but is good value for money, you end up becoming a frequent visitor and this is definitely the case for Frankie & Benny's.

We were recently invited to our local Frankie & Benny's restaurant to see what their new kids menu had to offer and I was more than happy to oblige because we've always enjoyed what they have to offer. Our nearest branch is one at Westwood Cross in Thanet and the staff there are wonderfully friendly and always brilliant with my girls, offering them colouring to keep them them entertained while they waited for their meals and balloons to take away when they finish eating. But what about the food I hear you cry.

Well the latest kids menu means that you can get a main, two sides, a dessert and a drink for either £4.45 or £7.45 depending whether you have a younger or older child choosing. The choice of dishes available is amazing, so good in fact that my lot had a hard time deciding what to even have. From mini meatball burgers to mac n cheese boats, there is something for everyone and the desserts, well honestly I'd have been quite happy to have a kids meal instead of an adult one, the new freakshakes looking epic!

Whilst my husband and I were enjoying our meals the children were sipping on cocktails and tucking into some truly scrumptious food. Everything comes out presented beautifully almost looking too good to eat and I say almost because you know we were hungry so those meals were not going to waste. The only problem we had was trying to fit everything on the table because there was just an abundance of food, excellent value for money.

From a parent perspective, what I found great was the portion sizes. They've changed slightly since the last time we visited and this is a really good thing. They've broken things down into mini duo sizing and it was just right and the fact that when picking the sides you had to choose a carbie option and a veggie one which meant that  it was balanced. And much to my kids delight, they still had room for pudding as well.

Anyone who has a sweet tooth will be in heaven browsing the dessert choices. There are healthier options like smoothie ice lollies and fruit skewers, classic ice creams and the truly indulgent choices such as ice cream sliders (ice cream in doughnuts!) and movie magic brownies. Three of my daughters opted for the chocolate fudge sundae, it was the added curly wurly that won them over. It didn't surprise me that they found themselves not being able to finish their puddings. We were leaving with filled to the brim with food and in need of a good nap after.

Frankie & Benny's is a restaurant that I'd highly recommend, especially for those with families. Good value for money, friendly atmosphere and a great choice of foods for both adults and children and if you sign up to F&B rewards they always have offers running for money off your bill etc as and extra incentive to visit.

  1. The new kids menu looks brilliant! We have a F&bs in the town we live and we used to visit all the time as it is so child friendly, we have not been for a while as we have been saving for our wedding and holiday but I think we need to return as my kids would love these. X
