Strangers by C.L. Taylor Blog Tour

C.L. Taylor, who is a bestselling author of six stand alone psychological thrillers: THE ACCIDENT, THE LIE, THE MISSING, THE ESCAPE, THE FEAR and SLEEP, is back with her latest novel Strangers.

And I am here to share with you my thoughts on this latest dark and gripping story.

Ursula, Gareth and Alice have never met before.

Ursula thinks she killed the love of her life.

Gareth’s been receiving strange postcards.

And Alice is being stalked.

None of them are used to relying on others – but when the three strangers’ lives unexpectedly collide, there’s only one thing for it: they have to stick together.

Otherwise, one of them will die.

Three strangers, two secrets, one terrifying evening.

Unable to put down from the first page.

The first thing you read about is a woman standing over a body. So many questions from the beginning. Who is this woman? Is she a stone-cold killer or a person pushed to defend herself against harm?

Cleverly told from three points of view. As the tale progresses we are gradually introduced to Alice, Gareth and Ursula.

Alice is a divorced woman, who works in a fashion boutique in the local shopping mall, trying to get back on the wagon as such. Braving the world of dating, she is now highly convinced that she has gained a stalker.

Gareth is a single man living at home with his elderly mother (she has dementia), who works as a security guard at the same shopping mall.

And there is Ursula, a woman who has suffered great loss in her life. She works as a delivery driver but there are times where you will find her shoplifting, more specifically from the shop where Alice works.

These three people have never officially met before but by the end of this book their lives will be forever bonded by events that they could never have foreseen.

When strangers lives intertwine what will happen?

After a first date goes wrong for Alice, she finds herself in a unique situation, one that leads to a complicated romance. When she receives disturbing messages she begins to fear for her safety. Does the man she's seeing have a pyscho ex that's now following her?

Gareth is a lonely man. His life consists of going to work, sneaking McDonald's meals in the drive thru and coming home to tend to his mum. He finds himself asking for normality to resume when one day he comes home to find his mother missing, that on top of being accused of having something to do with the disappearance of a work colleague. Life just got real!

Memories of her dead boyfriend haunt Ursula, you can see that she's suffering with a degree of depression but she's coping. That is until she has to move in with a strange man called Ed, her world slowly starts to crumble around her as a client complains about her and to top it off, she's caught shoplifting.

Could things get any worse for this trio?

Each character is portrayed with great detail.

What I really liked was that each of them were made all the more believable by their flaws and the struggles that they've faced/are currently facing.

This made them relatable and therefore I was more invested in just what would happen to them.

C.L. Taylor writes novels that are the definition of page turners.

With an abundance of twists and turns, the story is skilfully bought together, and this is not easy to do when you are trying to make three separate storylines combine into one.

Just how do these three strangers come to know each other?

Fast-paced and explosive!

As secrets are uncovered and truths are revealed, I can almost guarantee that you won't be able to guess where this story will take you.

I can't give away much more of the story without spoiling this so I'll leave you with just one simple question:

Can strangers become allies?

All will be revealed.

Why not carry on with the blog tour for more reviews and details on Strangers.

  2. This sounds like just my sort of read. I've read two of C L Taylor's books. I didn't realise she had written so many others.
