Read With Me #37

Hello you lovely book worms. Have you found yourself being able to read more with the kids back at school?? Are you getting a bit more "me time"??.

read with me
I haven't had more time as I still have my youngest at home and I am back to sitting and reading school books sent home and the obligatory homework.

My 4 year old started primary school a couple of weeks ago and just last  week she was sent home with her first book.

And what I loved was that it was a picture book, no words at all.

This allows for kids to create their own stories, letting their imaginations really run wild.

It encourages them to focus on the story rather than just the words on the page.

I think it is a great way to introduce children to books.

This leads nicely to my favourite post that was linked up last week, this was from My Book Corner, with a post explaining the process that goes into making a picture book.

Onto the link up.

If you are new to #readwithme you can see what it is all about here. All you regulars get linking up. Be kind and comment on a couple of other posts and if you are feeling generous why not display my badge of link back :)

Happy reading.

  2. Ooh I love this linky!
(the teetering pile of "to read" books by my door is less enthusiastic since after reading this I usually add to it)

  4. I love that your daughter received a picture book like that-sounds like a fantastic teacher. I totally agree too-reading is so much of an experience and not just the sounding out of words (although I realise this is important).
