Cravendale The #MilkDrinkersMilk

Milk is more often than not used as an ingredient. It can be made to taste different when mixed with other things. Most will enjoy it stirred into a good old cup of tea and I will admit to loving a nice thick milkshake but lets be honest milk does not need anything else to make it taste good, especially when that bottle of milk happens to be filled with Cravendale.

I was recently given the opportunity alongside other bloggers to join in the #MilkDrinkersMilk challenge with Britmums and Cravendale. The project, to share our favourite ways we like to enjoy a nice big, old glass of milk or in oour favourite cup/mug, whatever our preference might be.

Testing My Baking Skills #FloridaTixbakeoff

FloridaTix are turning 10 and of course any birthday celebration needs cake so they set myself and 9 other bloggers the task to create them a birthday cake as part of their FloridaTixbakeoff challenge. Now I'm ok at making cakes and I don't like to blow my own trumpet but I think I'm pretty great at eating them!! However my decorating skills I admit are somewhat lacking.

I always have visions in my head as to how I want my finished cakes to look but honestly they never come out looking how I imagined them but I'm not one to turn down a challenge so I've given it my best shot.

We were each sent a little hamper of baking goodies to help us with our creations this included icing, edible glitter and a madeira cake mix.

Creepy Crawly Crafting Fun

Nestle recently carried out some interesting research, revealing the kind of challenges that parents like myself face when trying to make sure that their children are receiving the vitamins and minerals that they need. There were some weird and wonderful findings :

71 % of kids refuse to eat a plate of greens (you know the good stuff!)

47% of children have had a chew on some sort of bug from the garden. Some of the creepy crawlies included were worms, caterpillars and snails.

This gave nestle the idea to build a caterpillar of their own made from cereal. So they worked alongside food artist Prudence Staite to create a huge 10ft one to showcase just how nutritious cereal can be…..

Taking The All-Bran 5 Day Challenge

I was surprised to read the 90 to 95 percent of the happy hormone serotonin is produced in the gut. How can the tummy make these happy little things if they aren't happy themselves??

All-Bran recently got together with Britmums and set bloggers the task of taking part in their #RealMumsAllBran 5 day challenge.

The Challenge

Eat a bowl of All-Bran cereal for 5 consecutive days and see if you notice a difference in your general digestive well-being.

Eassentially the idea behind it is to give our tummies a good feeling, not that horrible bloated niggling that many of us, including myelf get.

To get me started, I received three boxes of their cereal : Golden Crunch, Red Berry and Chocolate Wheats.

Filofax Blogger Challenge

Recently I was asked to take part in the latest Filofax blogger challenge. The challenge was actually more for my eldest daughter than myself. She had to keep a diary during the October half term using the Springboard for Children charity organiser that was being sent to her. This challenge suited ELise to a T because she loves writing in her own diary.

When we received the organiser we also received some lovely chunky pencils for Elise to use. The half term diary that was inserted in the Filofax Springboard organiser had a page for writing and a page for drawing a picture for each day of the half term break. Elise was free to make it as bright and colourful as she wanted.

Here are Elise's diary entries about what she got up to during her half term break, a couple are slightly harder to read because of the colour of pencil that she used.

Eight other bloggers and their children also took part in this challenge, you can see their diary entries here, all of them are really great to read.

Filofax have now put one diary entry from each child up on their Facebook page, whoevers entry receives the most likes by the 2nd December will win a collection of Springboard organisers to give away on their blog, so why not go and take a look and like your favourite.

Disclaimer : I was sent the Springboard organiser free of charge for the purposes of this challenge.
